CERWIN-Vega! XED Series 2-Way Speakers – High-Performance Audio with 300W MAX Power (XED650C)

Replaced my OE front door speakers in my 2005 Nissan Frontier with these. Huge improvement! For the money I don’t think you can get much better. They are very efficient, power wise, and sound great with just deck power. Removed the old speaker and these just bolted right in. Make sure to order the correct wiring adapters for your vehicle to make installation even easier. Cerwin-Vega has been in the speaker business, both home and mobile, for many years. Great upgrade for the money.

I matched these 6x9 CERWIN-Vega XED 6x9s with the CERWIN-Vega XED 6.5" speakers (that have the separate 1" tweeters) to replace the 6 speakers in my 2014 Toyota Corolla. I powered them with a BOSS BR920WCPA 20W RMS/85W Peak X 4 channel head unit. I just trying to replace blown OEM speakers and an OEM head unit with something that offered Apple Play and easier access to the equalizer. I got this all installed today and this system sounds way better and gets way louder without distorting than I was execting for the money. I love it. The speakers all have large magnets for their size. I own some vintage Cerwin Vegas and an old receiver, I have an affinity for the name Cerwin Vega, it is the only reason I bought these cheap Cerwin Vega speakers off of Amazon. I thought they would work but wasn't expecting that much. I will re iterate. These more than surprised me, I love this stereo in my little commuter car. LOL. I could just sit in it in my driveway and destroy my ears for hours.

Speakers sounded great. I didn't purchase the mounting kit that was extra and I would recommend getting it.

My 2012 Tundra Crew Max has a very shallow speaker configuration. I tried many others but they hit the windows bracket on the inner door. These fit the bill perfect. Note, you'll need a set of front door speaker adapters to line up with the factory mounting holes. The sound was an improvement over the factory speakers. Plenty of mid range punch and a decent amount of bass. Coupled with a small 12" sub, i am very impressed for the money spent. Are there better speakers out there? Absolutely. For someone like me who only uses his truck a few times a month, I don't think I could find a better alternative.

I love these speakers, I recently bought the 5x7 but I’ve bought them in just about every size for multiple vehicles. These are perfect if you’re using the head unit to push the speakers and have realistic expectations that these are a huge upgrade from stock speakers and you’ll only see diminishing returns on value the more expensive you get. The sensitivity rating, measure in dB is what you want to make sure you compare when looking for stock upgrades. Most speakers are designed to be ran off an amp that the majority of buyers will never own. Don’t overlook these speakers in comparison to Sony, pioneer, kenwood etc level upgrades to your stock system. Not what you want if you’re looking to rattle your teeth with the bass or competition level system with a 1,000 watt amp. They sound ok but the front window glass hit the magnet when the window rolled down on my daughters Kia. Had to make spacers to clear the glass. Make sure you order spacers when you buy this.

For under $40 these speakers are a great buy and you'd be hard pressed to do better. I was looking for the cheapest priced, under 2" depth shallow mount speakers with the best possible sound and and these fit the bill the best that I could find. I thought about getting some decent coaxial speakers, but they were all more expensive than these ($50-$80) and most likely still wouldn't sound as good as these components, so this made my decision an easy one. I looked for speakers with the highest sensitivity and the lowest rms to try and maximize my factory stereo head unit's potential ("supposedly" 20 watts X 4) that I don't plan on ever upgrading, nor plan on adding an amplifier to and these won over the rest of the available choices considering the circumstances. I custom fitted these into a 2009 Smart Fortwo Passion by making my own car speaker mounting brackets by using the car's factory speakers as a template onto a sheet of polypropylene and then cut them out using a jigsaw. Making my own speaker mounts was a bit of a pain, but definitely worth it in the end imo as I am very pleased with the results and don't think it could have turned out better. I unplugged my car's shot factory tweeters in the dash and flush mounted these new tweeters into the sail panels and altogether (using the new crossovers of course) these look and sound great for the money. You're supposed to mount the tweeters within 12" of the woofers, but mine are more like 15-16" apart and they still sound in sync. If money wasn't one of the main determining factors of my review, then I'd probably downgrade these speakers to 3.7-4 stars and just being "good" because there is obviously better out there, but you're also going to be paying more and getting further away from a low rms. For my casual usage of these, these are plenty good enough and sound bukoo times better than the shot factory speakers I replaced. Most people would probably feel the same way unless you're one of those people that is super hard to please. For what you pay and what you get, I really wouldn't feel right giving these less than 5 stars.

Has a good sound and fit my vehicle exactly a specified

Picked these up for my Volvo 240 as the old front speakers were toast. It's a 1400$ car with a 45$ radio in it so I wasn't about to spend $$$ on speakers. No complaints about these, they sound good, fit and finish is solid, and they blend in well with the door panels - no silly early-2000's weird grilles. Took maybe 10 minutes to install.

Speakers look very well made and large diamiter voice coil with well designed reinforced suspension that gives great midbass performance the tweeters produce clean clear highs that dont sound harsh and arent directional like many tweeters they arent hard to place especially if you have factory tweeters in your vehicle these come with everything you need even the crossover units are well made with very good quality components plenty of wire for tweeters to be located ware you need (factory locations in my 06 santa fe were no trubble and look factory) these sound great on their own (choose a good radio it does make a big difference im running a pioneer dvd headunit) subwoofers when set correctly compliment these perfectly very pleased with quality and sound cerwin vega still got the magic even in their car audio gear (update: speakers sound great if you have a 2001-2006 Hyundai santa fe these are perfect the cross overs mounting points match 2 scew holes on door panels will need modifications to swap from factory tweeters to the ones in this kit but fit perfectly in factory locations very happy with the speakers)

I sort of figured these would be crappy by price but considered the reviews before and decided to give them a shot replacing a blown Rockford Fosgate (replace both). Exceded my expectations and do sound great. Very good bang for buck tweeters. If thats what your after I highly recommend these.
