The gate can be disassembled for service when required but I haven't had to do such yet. The lock screw can cause the baffle to leak air if not installated with the right orientation. The correct orientation is for the lock screw to be opposite to the suction source.Product is made in Taiwan.

Sooo much better than the plastic. Hoses stay on, gate opens wider, can be locked open or closed, doesn't literally pop apart like the plastic ones, etc.

I purchased this gate hoping for a heavier, more reliable blast gate. After 6 months I can say with certainty "stay away." Two reasons. One: The housing is heavy duty but the gate itself is very flimsy. It bends easily as you slide it back and forth, once it has a few creases it jams constantly. Two: the two flanges are shorter than it's competitors and they are "sloped" by which I mean the diameter at the end of the flange is less than near the body. As a result I have constant problems with the hose clamp coming loose. Actually, I HAD constant problems. I gave up and replaced it with a plastic one

I have two hoses to my vacuum system. Sometimes I like to shut one of the hoses thereby increasing the suction in the other. Very handy.
