One of, if not THE, best toys I've ever purchased.
It's late August and I first purchased a set of Kapla blocks at Christmas. I can say with certainty that this is one of the only toys to get regular play time 8 months later. I originally bought one box of 200 for my nieces & nephew and one box of 50 for myself. Once the other adult family members realized how fun and smart the blocks were, the collection grew to over 700!The kids are constantly trying new designs and building things with more precision...and when they walk away to do something else, the adults jump in and try their own designs!I can say with confidence that very few other toys have received as much play-time as these simple little wood blocks have.

Very Expensive, but Great for a certain type of builder
If your child likes to build using legos or other materials according to directions and has little interest in creative building, they may not appreciate this. The advantage to these pricey building blocks is in their uniformity. They are not warped and are cut very precisely so as to maximize stability in large structures. The larger the structure you create, the more detail you can incorporate. Think about a sketch of a bicycle that is drawn using nothing but identicle short straight lines. If only 10 lines are used, it may not look much like a bicycle, but if 100 lines are used, then it will be unmistakeable. Unlike sketching, in construction, balance is a factor, so for this reason, these blocks are a great tool for the developing engineering mind. I think they will be used differently as the kids hit different stages of their childhood, to demonstrate more advanced skills of creative design.

Simple with room to spark imagination
I guess this is a classic based on the reaction this got from the adults who played with it as kids. I'm just starting my journey as a grandmother and am adding what I hope are great toys and games that will last. This is a simple wooden set of wooden blocks that can grow with kids. The more they grow, the more they can use their imagination to build structures. I need to see this in action with kids more to see how well loved they will be but I have a good feeling about them. I also got magna tiles and they are definitely a thumbs up.

Super well made
We are OBSESSED with these blocks. Super well made, sturdy, and clearly will last through many, many session of "build and destroy" towers. The box contains 200 pieces, which is perfect for starters. Kiddos have spent hours with their Kaplas-- fantastic tool for building focus, concentration, and encouraging detail play that helps with fine motor skills. Love these!

LOVE these blocks!
Got these last year for the boys for Christmas, they were ages 4 and 7. They have been played with EVERY day since. And we have added to the set with more blocks. I love to build with them, too. Best blocks I ever bought. Great for them to use imagination and combine with other toys to play for hours. My kids build towers and tracks and houses and stairs, you name it. Then they add lego guys and other figures to play in them.
