Webco Mannesmann Chop Saw Stand
II'm building pigmy walls for a Victorian Shape comservatory, which has a half hexigon bow end. This means i have to cut many house bricks to get the angles i need. Using a heavy angle grinder this soon gets tedious as welll as difficult to see rhrough all the dust.I tried the guilotine type cutters where you hit with a club hammer but engineering bricks are very hard to cut at an angle. This stand converts a 9" Grinder to a chop saw allowing a much easier task and repeatable results. With this unit i bought from Amazon a Wolf 9" grinder, the two side handle holes are used to secure the grinder to the stand, but the bolts supplied are to big for this grinder. To over come I had to grind down the ends of both bolts for about 1cm using a bench grinder. This stand could be far more versatile had it come with the ends of the bolts already ground to more of a point. The instructions on assembly need better discriptions as i can see serious accidents ahead for the less wary. Th base plate is pressed steal and easily distorts so advice is to bolt it down to a piece of 25mm Ply then gripp the wood to a work mate type table, weight the table with bricks or sand bags.House bricks don't quit fit in so you need to make a cut then snap off the last bit, if this leaves a 'snot' then make a cleaning pass from another direction. This stand is well worth having, be aware unlike a normal chop saw used for cutting wood, it will present very easy opertunitues to self amputate fingers and limbs, check your grinder will fit if it properly, especially if you don't have the mechanical skills to be adaptive - or at least own a bench grinder ;).

Dangerous grinder stand !!
Poor grinder stand ! Of very poor construction ! Main chassis far too light for a 9 inch grinder ! The Base is made of a very light material which causes the grinder holder arm to sway from side to side when cutting which makes this unit dangerous to say the least ! .. I made a new Base for mine out of 5mm steel plate to make the whole unit safe to use !
