beautiful spaghnum
Great quality spaghnum that I used both for topping the soil of potted plants and also in an isopod habitat.

Real moss with multiple uses. Long fibers and holds onto moisture well.
I was surprised that this arrived in a bag that was an open weave, so fine particles are free to come out and get on whatever is around, so I leave it in the delivery bag to contain all the fines. I don't see any contaminants in the fibers and they are nice, fibers that give some integrity to the moss when you apply it. I use it in plantings as a soil amendment to promote root growth and as top-cover to keep moisture in the soil between watering. Overall, I think this is a good value for the price and is a decent quality of moss for my needs.

Is as advertised
I got this moss to add into a plastic stake I have for my monstera plant to climb up. Even though the stake I had to fill was rather tall (at least 24" tall and 3" diameter), this was the perfect amount to do so. It came packaged well and didn't leak into the box. The moss itself is a nice mix of attractive green and brown.

Strong Oder
The bag was not very big and the product doesn't seem to have been cleaned before shipping. I have spent quite a bit of time in gardens and the woods and it doesn't smell like either wet or dry vegetation. It smells like swamp muck from someplace close to pigs or something sour. I'll do some rinsing and it will probably work fine but it is not going to be a go-to product since I will have to clean it before being able to use it. I just want to be able to add some moss to my plants, not have to rinse, strain, and filter everything before I am able to.

A little dirty, but no bugs, smells clean.
Overall, I liked this moss. When you consider what you could get, this appears to be a good product. Here's why I have it 5 stars. It's not broken up; the moss was harvested as nice large and long fibers. I haven't seen any bugs or eggs. There are no bad smells like mold or rot. It smells good a forest-like. Most of the moss is green, some dark green, maybe 40% brownish. You can expect a small amount of dusty dirt to fall out while you handle it. I had to thoroughly wet it before attempting to peel off layers of moss. Then it came apart like it was really fresh. I'm using it as a moist bed for air plants. And it looks great.I recommend this product for your plant beautification needs.

Good for moss poles
I have started to make my own moss poles. The type of moss is so important as it needs to stay moist. The moss does need to soak before using, it comes in a weaved bag to help with airflow. The moss has stayed moist with a drip system and occasional misting.

A bit crumbly, but works well
I use a lot of this material between having herps, and a diverse potted plant collection. This brand came in pretty dusty/crumbley from having been stored dry for too long. After letting it soak over night and draining it well, it pulled back together fairly decently. Not the highest quality or freshest moss I've recieved, but not bad either.
