Jerusalem Artichoke: Production and Marketing (All About Vegetables)

This book is clearly intended for commercial growers as it speaks of tons and acres. It also reminded me of nothing so much as a term paper. Please don't misunderstand me: That's not bad, just different.I learned a lot about Jerusalem Artichokes. They sound wonderful, but living in the Arizona desert, it convinced me not to plant here in the near future unless it's a small winter crop. Without this book I might have planted at the wrong time. If I were planning to grow this hardy plant commercially, I'd study this book because it's packed with info from planting to packaging and everything in between. But first do as the book suggests and make sure to have a market or buyer identified - that's great advice!

We planted Jerusalem artichokes this year and I've been wondering how to care for them and when to harvest. This book has all the answers in a very accessible format. The Table of Contents is clear, thorough, and well-linked. It appears to be written for a bigger crop than I have, but the information still applies. Perfect!
