Does this come with thermal paste?

The waterblock has a preattached thermal pad (just a square of thermal compound) that will adhese to the processor once you start it running. You can scrape it off and use your own like Arctic Silver or Noctua or something if you want but with an overclocked i7, my processor generally idles at 20 celsius or less with the default pad and at load it is rarely above 40. I had planned to use arctic silver but I left the included compound on to see how good it was and it is fine.

would this work with an i core 7?

Yes it will work perfectly. No problem. Go for it.

What do you guys recommend for a pump and reservoir for this system?

I think you misunderstand sir, this is a self contained system. You can not add an external res or pump nor do you need too. It is a self contained system, much like the corsair h55 and such, its a closed loop system which means less maintenance and slightly lesser cooling. However short of cooling AMD 9590, I cant think this bad boy would have a problem cooling anything.

Is 36c ~ average/normal temp on idle with this liquid cooler? i have an i7-5820k @ 4.0ghz, and i have an asus strix oc gtx 1080 @ 53-56c on idle...

my i5 12600k idles around 32-35c with the 120mm aio, my asus strix 3070 around 40-41c with 0 fan rpm. but im also in an itx case with fans sent to silent in a room around 25c.
