ChiaoGoo Circular 40 inch (102cm) Wooden Knitting Needle Size US 19 (15mm) 2040-19

The media could not be loaded.  I was excited to receive these US 19 ChaioGoo wood 40" circular needles for a project and ready to love them. I ended up being quite disappointed.As you can see in the video, the two needles are not the same size. I'm fairly new to knitting, so I'm not sure if the small difference could effect the stitch size/tension conformity in an actual project. Regardless, it just seems strange in what is supposed to be a high quality product.That was not my biggest problem/disappointment however. The connecting cord is a thick soft plastic hollow tubing. It is very sticky to work with and advancing my stitches as I knit this large throw blanket is absolutely miserable. I'm spending more time fighting the tubing than I am knitting. I tried cleaning the tubing with rubbing alcohol, then going over it with a medical grade GooGone type cleaner. It was a very tiny improvement, but not enough to improve the performance to any useful degree.The needles themselves were very comfortable to knit with, with just the right combination of sticky/slippery to let the yarn flow easily without stitches accidentally sliding off.I'm awaiting delivery of Knitter's Pride US 19 interchangeable wood needles with the thin plastic-coated wire cord as a replacement. I'll come back and update this post after I've received them and compared the performance difference.

These needles are built very well and shaped very well my only issue was that they are just a tad too short.. by that I mean that the needle part itself is a little shorter by about a half an inch than what I would like to fit nicely in my hand.Because they were a little bit too short for me the transition between the needle and the cord hit right under my pinky and that was a little bothersome. (I have kind of big hands for a girl)But other than that I would highly recommend them!

I like these needles but there is a place where the metal meets the wood that seems to catch the yarn. It does seem to go away the longer you knit so I assume it smooths itself out.

Beautiful, smooth, comfortable and (if you are used to circular needles) easy to use. I love these needles but, if you asked for suggestions to better them, I would change the connection of tubing to the bamboo- so that the tubing would turn within the needle....they don’t seem to be making them like that anymore

The needles work well. My only complaint is the cord is pretty stiff but understandable for a cord of this size.

I Only use bamboo needles. Try you’ll never go back. If you make blankets you need these. Helps beginners.

Exactly whar I wanted.

The cord/rubber tubing connecting the needles makes knitting difficult and frustrating. It sticks to the yarn so the stitches cannot slide across the cord unless pushed, which I have had to do after every 10 stitches, and this can lead to yarn winding/unwinding and stitches crossing. Made a project I was really excited about into a chore.

These were perfect for my project with required a longer holding middle part. Great all around!
