Q: Hi - is the material / finish of these such that it can be painted? I'd like to paint them to match the wall paint color where I'm going to use them.

That would depend on the paint you use. The project boxes are made from a smooth hard plastic. I have painted them with enamel spray paint to great effect. I have also used acrylics without any problems. Latex house paint, on the other hand, can be rubbed or scratched off of the plastic with some effort. You can improve the adhesion of the paint by lightly sanding the plastic, just make sure the pieces are thoroughly clean and dry before painting. If they are going to be handled regularly, I'd go with an enamel paint, or a clear protective coat over top of acrylics.
