A skipping rope is a fantastic piece of cardio equipment. It allows you to burn calories, improve coordination, and improve your fitness almost anywhere. You can also take skipping a bit further by learning a number of more difficult movements and tricks such as double unders or the criss cross, for example.This particular skipping rope is very well made for the price (£4.99 at time of writing) and will suit most people. It comes with plastic handles wrapped in a comfortable grip tape that makes it easy to keep hold of the handles even when they get wet (or more likely sweaty!). They are a nice shape as well, designed in a way that they sit comfortably in your hands. The bearings aren't the fastest or longest spinning on the market, but for a budget skipping rope they move well enough that you can do very fast single skips or double unders.The cable is a 10ft wire cable coated with a thin plastic (for safety and durability). It attaches to the handles using a simple screw system. You will want to check these screws every few uses, because the force of skipping can shake them loose over time. Keep in mind as well, the first time you use this skipping rope you will want to cut this wire to suit your height. There are a number of YouTube videos on getting the perfect length.Also included with the skipping rope is a spare 10ft cable and a drawstring travel bag that can be used for storing the skipping rope when not using it.The only thing to consider when choosing this kind of speed rope over a different type of rope is that you can't use them outside on concrete or the cable will break down very, very quickly. However, if you're using them on rubber flooring or carpet they will last quite some time.Overall it's a fast, durable rope at a low cost and is easy to recommend.

Before I ordered this skipping rope, I bought a really cheap one for only a couple of £'s and I really couldn't get on with it. The handles were cheap with no grip and the rope kept splintering off, so I decided to spend a bit more and the difference is huge.✔️ Handles - The handles a nice and thick and have an indent for better support. They are wrapped in a grippy material, so my hands did not slip once.✔️ Adjustable - The handles have a metal set screw that holds the rope in place, this allowed me to adjust it perfectly to my height. Perfect for smaller people like me!✔️ Rope - The rope is thicker than my previous rope and has not shown and splintering of the plastic even after extensively using it for just over a month. It also comes with a spare rope which I thought was a nice touch.Overall, it's a really good skipping role. I would advise people to avoid the really cheap ones and go with one like this, even if you are just starting out.

I was keen to try this rope during lock down to try and get fitter. Skipping was a childhood favourite past-time. This rope is very different from the heavy cotton ropes which I really liked because of the weight. This skipping rope has very little weight even though it has a twisted metal wire core covered with a hard plastic sheath. It turns easily and quickly helping you skip faster. It is easy to change the length by a couple of screws in the handle and so will suit shorter people like myself. The soft grip handles are comfortable and a good thickness, but the rubber tape is not durable. The plastic outer covering of the rope wears quickly during outdoor skipping. There is a spare rope for when you need a replacement. The rope is ok and only twists slightly when being turned. It is quite painful if you happen to hit your legs or feet with the rope. It comes in a handy nylon draw string bag.
