I used these scope rings to install a 3-9x40 on my 22 bolt action rifle. They are made of quality aluminum, and were free from any manufacturing defects that I could see. They mounted easily on the dovetail, and hold securely. I got these rings so I could use the iron sights and the scope on my rifle, and they work wonderfully for that purpose. I would advise that you want to make sure you have an adjustable height cheek rest to make sure you get a proper cheek weld. The only "downside" I can find (though it is a minor inconvenience) is that they use a torx screw, not a hex head. So you need to make sure to keep track of the tool that comes with it, unless you have a torx set, or a screwdriver kit with multiple heads. I usually prefer torx head screws for other uses, but not a huge fan on machine screws. However, you should be able to run to your local hardware store and get some hex replacements for next to nothing. Pros: -Cost -Build -Allows use of iron sight Cons: -Torx screws

These are a nice item. They are good quality and fit nicely on my .22 bolt action Marlon. But the reason I got it was because I wanted to see the open sights under my scope. It did not work out for that. The mounting bolts block the sights. That was a bit disappointing because that was the whole point in getting them. Maybe it's just the design of my gun and scope. I can't say if it would allow view of the sights on a different one. They were just as pictured and arrived quickly. The 4 stars is because they didn't work out for me.
