New insight for me in what is common in kids with ADHD
I really appreciate the truth told in this book. I'm tired of reading prettied-up accounts of life with a child with ADHD. I especially like the breakdown of behaviors associated with ADHD, because after reading tons of materials and even attending an 8-week parenting course for our situation, I learned about inflexibility (not wanting impromptu outings) and fear of the unknown (not wanting to go on special outings - even school field trips). I know these things exist in my child, but had no idea it was common to kids with ADHD. I liked reading Daniel and Katie's stories. I crave knowing real stories of how things turned out, and that it can have a happy ending.

Comfort in Numbers
What a refreshingly honest story about what it can be like to liven with a son with ADHD. Our son was recently diagnosed at the tender age of 5 & it's already been quire the battle. However, it's comforting to know we are not alone & we can/will get through it to a better tomorrow...some day.

THE BOY FROM Hell:LIFE WITH A CHILD WITH ADHD
VERY INFORMATIVE BOOK. AT ONE TIME WE LIVED NEXT DOOR TO A CHILD WITH ATTENTION DEFICIT AND I THOUGHT HE WAS JUST A BAD BOY. NOW I UNDERSTAND A LITTLE BETTER AND CAN SEE THAT HIS MOM JUST DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

Highly recommend
Thanks for writing this book! Great read. The biographical-style helped in showing the daily struggles of caring for a child with ADHD. More importantly, it gives the feeling of hope that despite a difficult situation, things will get better. I especially liked the end part written by Daniel, "the boy from hell" himself.

This is one of the best insightful and practical book i have ever read about ...
This is one of the best insightful and practical book i have ever read about ADHD.It is worth reading especially if you are a family suffering because your child has ADHD.It is a relief to know that we are not alone in our fights for recognition that ADHD is a disability and that parents and teachers should be supported.

Title is careless and harmful.
Why on earth would you choose this title?! The message this title sends next to the subtitle you’ve selected is so harmful! ADHD is already wildly misunderstood and kids with ADHD are met with stigma in every setting. I’m a behavior analyst, special education teacher and person with ADHD. Of all the possible titles... publishers should not have allowed this. Terrible. :(

This book has helped so much
Brilliant book. Been struggling with my son for ages and struggled getting my partner to get on board with the fact that his behaviour was definitely behaviours which matched the ADHD criteria, done plenty of research online and still my partner was always in denial. After purchasing this book and both reading it not only has it helped my partner come to terms with the fact our son definitely has ADHD but it also helped to know that we aren’t the only ones who have gone through all of this. I struggled to find anything online which was a personal story of someone raising a child with ADHD but this book is exactly it, when me and my partner read this we both said it sounded like reading a book on our son and our day to day lives. I would recommend this to anyone who is concerned as to whether their child may have ADHD or already does have an ADHD diagnosis because doctors can only tell you so much, this is so much more about day to day life and dealing with problems and challenges that will arise with schools etc.

Motherboard pointer of view
It was important for me to read a book written by a mother with problem similar to mine. I am lukier than her since my child symptons are milder. I felt confortated knowing I am not crasy when I think is an hard job to cope with this kind of teens. I am absorbed all day by him even when I work.I am always worried and I dont know were finding somebody who can help me.

Fantastic, insightful, inspiring.
As a teacher who has worked with children with this condition, I found this book to be informative and heart wrenching. So often children with ADHD are perceived to be the 'naughty children ' and as Alison rightly says, parents are all too frequently judged and there is a unfair assumption that ADHD doesn't exist. I have learnt so many new strategies from this books and when I'm tearing my hair out trying to find a solution I will remember you Alison and how you persisted and overcame such alot. Hats off to you. You are an inspiration. Thank you.

It's like a mirror into my world .....
This book is amazing. Full of actually real advice and help . Not just someone's life story ! I read the whole book in one sitting ! It resembles me and my sons current situation perfectly. I have 3 children it also helped my oldest son understand his brother a bit more . My own boy from hell doesn't understand at all what's going on with him currently and we're reading parts together which I hope is really helping him . The only difference is my own son is also getting a diagnosis with asd aswell as ADHD so although it covers a lot there's a lot of symptoms we have that isn't in there . But I wouldn't expect them to be . I now have 4 pages of notes to take in to my own exclusion tribunal and that in itself is worth millions . The medication section was particularly helpful as we all no the Drs keep that one close to there chest .Rock on Alison ... there is hope !

Good book
Was a useful book especially around the parts to do with school. It has helped my partner to understand about ADHD and our child's behaviour and needs.
