This was shipped (apparently overseas) in nothing but a plastic bag. No box, no padding, just a bag taped around the item. It arrived looking as though it had been sat on - badly crushed on one side. It's thin metal, so I was able to pop some of the dents back out, but not all of them. Thank goodness this was meant to go in my camping equipment, and so it doesn't need to look particularly nice, or I'd be quite upset. Aside from that, the pot lid was as advertised and should work for my purposes just fine.
