EMOOR Japanese Tatami Mat (Igusa Mattress) Full-XL (55x83in) Made in Japan, Natural Beige

I have concrete flooring in our home, and I choose to use futons because I find it relieves alot of back pain. And using a rug under the futons was not cutting. Decided to splurge and order these, the quality is very nice and comfortable by it self and has helped immensely under the futons. I've read many complaints about the smell, but frankly I find it comforting as it reminds me of when we were kids and would take the back roads with our Nana just to smell the alfalfa. Over all will return for an update after some usage.

Purchased to go beneath a futon / shikibuton. Does the job, folds well, and has a nice herbal scent, reminiscent of green tea.

Upon opening the box with the mat in it, it did not smell like chemicals at all. It smelled like hay and a bit earthy. Which is fantastic, it’s very well made imo! Had to return due to sizing issue. Emoor went above and beyond to help me out!

I love this Tatami mat, and I use it under my futon. However, I do suggest airing it out before use if you don't want your room to smell like hay.

It's a great mat. I fold it up every night along with my futon giving me an extra room in the apartment. It's also padded (of course). Takes me back to my days visiting Japan. Well worth it - and the quality is just excellent.

Yes, after air drying outside for several days the mattress will be perfect for use.

It arrived very wet and stinks like a guinea pig cage and bug spray or chemicals. It says I'm supposed to send it back but the box was damaged and wet. Cardboard melts in the rain. I don't have access to another box this size. 😕 I don't know if all the rain and damp box made it smell worse? Or just brought out the odors? It really smells like animal droppings.

Ich nutze diese Tatami Matte für mein Futon (selber Hersteller) und bin mega begeistert.Der Geruch ist anfangs, für die europäische Nase etwas ungewohnt.Das Igusa-Gras riecht etwas nach Tabak.Nach dem ersten Tag habe ich mich persönlich schon daran gewöhnt und finde es mittlerweile sehr angenehm. (Der starke Geruch nach dem Auspacken verfliegt relativ schnell)Praktisch ist die Klappfunktion. Zuerst wollte ich eine normale Tatami, aber da ich mich momentan so einrichte dass ich mein Inventar problemlos transportieren kann, fiel die Wahl auf diese Matte.Verarbeitungsqualität ist tip top.Etwas besorgt war ich wegen der minimalen Dicke, aber es lässt sich wunderbar darauf sitzen und auch schlafen.Werde mir noch zwei weitere Matten fürs Wohnzimmer bestellen.

Livraison assez rapide. Pas de frais de douane pour ma part. La qualité semble au rendez-vous. Dans les premiers temps il y a une odeur persistante d’herbe mais elle passe après environ 3 semaines. C’est signe de bon produit.
