FoxAlien 69mm Diameter Dust Shoe for CNC Router Machine, Compatible with 52mm Spindle Motor and 65mm Router, Hose Diameter 38mm

I bought this hoping it would work with my machine since i have both a 52mm spindle and a 65mm router for my setup however, the body of the attachment collides with the frame of my Z axis keeping the spindle from making contact with the media even with my spindle seated as low in the bracket as possible. I still have it 4 stars just for the quality of the attachment. I know this wasn't made with my Anolex 3020 in mind. Hopefully I can figure out a modification to make it work. Update: After finding the adapter plate for my 65mm router to attach, I was able to attach and use the Fix-alien dust brush with my setup. So far working as intended and no issues with the bottom coming detached from the top with the magnet's. If this is happening to you, adjust it so that the bristles just barely touch you media when in use. You don't need it pushed down to the point of the bristles bending for it to do its job.

This attachment is exactly what I had hoped for. At least 90% less dust gets put into the air & even wood chips are contained. My portable dewalt vacuum is plenty strong enough to keep up with the dust production.

I’ve had my Fox Alien XE-pro for two years and the only problems I’ve had were self inflicted. Fox Alien has been awesome with their product and support. I would not hesitate to purchase from them again.

I debated getting this with my XE-Pro because I wasn't sure how I would like the magnetic attachment. To put it bluntly... I don't. 3 main items for me on this. 1) The "connection" size doesn't work with anything in my dust collection arsenal. The best fit I got was a small shop-vac hose with a plastic tapered connector on it, but it moved around while the CNC did it's thing and came out mid-job. I ended up taking it off, splitting the hose, and then using a hose clamp to hold it on. Clunky, but kind of works. For the price they should have a more universal fitting or adapters, especially something I can connect to my shop system. 2) The magnetic hold for the top and bottom has failed on me a couple of times when moving across height transitions. So far I've been able to stop the router before the dust shoe contacts it, but there is nothing in the design which would keep it from doing so. For a $10 part no big deal as long as it isn't a safety issue, but for the price of this unit I don't' want to have to go get another one because it fell apart in use and part of it fell into the cutting area. I've tried wrapping a cable tie around it, but it's a tapered piece so it just slides of eventually. 3) It's really tall. Using it with a Bauer router and the appropriate adapter (with the router in the holder down to the label) It's longer than the router, so I have to leave more of the shank out of the collet than I usually like to. All in all I'm pretty disappointed in this dust shoe, but it's kind of a necessary part to avoid the shop filling with dust so I'll keep dealing with it as best I can.

This dust shoe does not stay in place. I have had two, and both suffered the same fate - the shoe fell off during a job and got chewed up by my end mill. FoxAlien was good enough to replace the first once free of charge. I've contacted support; let's see if they send me a 3rd. Currently, I have my 2nd dust shoe held in place with elastic bands. The magnets were ripped off by the last mishap. FoxAlien told me that the magnets work just find during their testing, but my experience leads me to a different conclusion. The magnets make removal and installation of the shoe quick and easy, but they're not secure enough to prevent the bottom of the shoe falling off. I do take the time to adjust the height of the shoe with every bit change. I aim for the brush to be anywhere from flush with the bit end to 1/2" above the bit end.

This dust collector is simply awesome. I know that word gets used way too much, but the mess that this thing gets rid of is something to behold. If there were 10 stars it would get all of them.

This is a must have for a cnc machine. I was having problems with my cnc jamming on the x axis as there was a lot of saw dust (expected) so I bought this as I do have a foxAlien cnc machine. And it’s done the job. also it dose collect a lot of dust and its little brushes help lift the saw dust as well. I like how the bottom is magnetic quick release so it makes it easier to change your bits. And it’s built really well. I personally would recommend

Really good, robust and wear resistant. Just a remark: better tape the parts, the magnets imo aren't strong enough, not that the parts came lose during ops but i wouldn't go without a little insurance policy.

Quasi indispensabile. Perfetto per aspirare la maggior parte della polvere prodotta dalla fresatrice. Sul mio Masuter Pro con una fresa tipo Makita ho dovuto fare un upgrade facendo i braccetti più alti per poter sfruttare al meglio l’asse Z. Prima dell’upgrade, la posizione della fresa con il modulo per aspirazione mi lasciava solo pochi centimetri di movimento.
