Osprey Daylite Jr. Kids' Commuter Backpack, Orange OS

Love this backpack! Great size for my six year old, and will definitely be usable until she’s 10-12. Used it as carry on for the plane & hiking in Colorado. Really nice quality material, perfect water bottle holders & comes with built in whistle on chest strap. Just the right size for a smaller kiddo and for any kiddo needing a lighter day pack. Love that the back is structured, but flexible. Held snacks, some toys/ smaller stuffy and some back up layers & clothes. FYI this would not really double as a school back pack as it’s too small to fit a lunch box or any back up winter gear. I don’t consider that a con as I bought it exactly for its intended purpose.

I absolutely love this backpack. It’s very nice and well made. Sturdy and durable while being adorable! Purchased for a five year old for day hiking. It wipes off easy and has strong zippers and is easy to adjust and wear. It is smaller in size so be sure to read measurements if wanting to use for school books. It can fit a 12” iPad.

About 3.95, design is great very lightweight and not bulky; you can put a lot of things-in a nutshell my toddler used this for forest summer camp and he’s able to put a small thermos for lunch, snacks, extra clothes but not his towel, epipen and other meds. Biggest complaint: it can injure you. The Velcro on the straps have sharp edges. It makes it look clean but beware! Also this is not big enough if you’re planning to use it for preK.

I love everything about this bag! It’s the perfect size for my 3 year old! She did a 5 mile hike mostly all on her own with this bag on her back! I was extremely proud and impressed. That tells you just how comfortable and lightweight this bag is. I love the built-in whistle feature. You can tell this is a high quality bag. Whenever I purchase items for my kids, I try to make conscious and mindful choices for their health and for the environment. So I really loved that this bag is made with PFAS-free material. Additionally, and as far as my knowledge, all Osprey packs are Bluesign Approved, which means that the manufacturing process is free from a list of toxic chemicals. While the bag isn’t waterproof, it is water resistant. For me, I didn’t need it to be completely waterproof so this wasn’t an issue. Although this bag is a little on the pricey side, the quality and the fact that it’s PFAS-free makes it worth the money.

This is a great starter bag for a kid, overall it seems durable and well made. It looks comfortable to wear. I do like the carry handle at the top that’s integrated with the straps. It has a main compartment that features a compatible hydration sleeve of the correct size if bought, it also has an admin compartment with 2 pockets in it and a fastened clip. On the outside it has 2 stretch pocket that hold pretty good. The color and design are spot on and great and the zippers work well for kids hands and adults as it has looping rope with plastic as the zipper pull tab. Again a good design. Osprey specs it at a 9 liter bag.

The quality was great, but was hoping this could have been used as my third graders backpack. It’s definitely too small for that. If you’re looking for something that can be used for a light daypack, this is great for a preschooler, but not big enough for regular school use.

Smaller than expected. Would not fit a standard sized folder. Bought thinking I could use for school but wound better serve as a travel backpack. Might be perfect for a children’s hiking trip or carry-on for an airplane ride.

Happy with bag for 7 yrs old, lightweight

My 4yo son needed a backpack he could take to bush kinder, as he will be walking and carrying it himself. It's small, but only needs to be big enough for a change of clothes, water bottle and a sandwich box so this is perfect for us. The chest clip is a bonus to help him keep it on and in a comfortable position. It's incredibly lightweight and has great back support.
