how do you connect the hose?

With the compression fitting that came with the pump. There should be a brass tube with flared end and a compression nut.

Can anyone suggest an adapter to use this for car tire inflation?

I wouldn't recommend it for car tires. Pump isn't made for that

Will this product inflate a car tire to 35 psi?

I have used this to top off my car tires several time. This little compressor is awesome!
