I love this white dish set!
I’ve always wanted a set of white dinnerware that I could use every day or for special occasions. This set checks all the boxes for me.I received them before Christmas and used them at my holiday dinner as well as every day for the last two months. They come out beautifully from the dishwasher. Another set that I tried, food stuck to the decorative trim that was a little deeper. Food does not stick in the trim of these plates. The last picture shows another Mikasa dinnerware that I have which is more of a beige color and I have the bowl on top of it to compare the two colors which this set is white.

Perfect!
This is gorgeous and light weight! We had some stoneware that I desperately have banted to replace! I did it with this. I got a 2 sets for 12 place settings. The design is understated and elegant. The saucers and plates are a good size. I didn't want to other routes and didn't want to replace stoneware. I love that this is china, and chip resistant. For the price, you can't beat it.

Functional and lightweight
We had Fiesta stoneware for 25 yrs and decided it was too blasted heavy. We don’t feel old enough for Corelle quite yet, so landed on this bone china. It’s pretty and works well. Another reviewer noted unevenness when on a table, but we’ve not noticed that with our sets. A bit annoyed that we could not purchase a set of eight, but rather had to buy two sets of six. We’ve been using them for a month or so now and are very pleased.

Beautiful dinnerware, lightweight, chip resistant, simple elegance
As an older, single person, finding the right dinnerware set can be a challenge - I don’t “entertain” very often so I don’t need anything ritzy, and I don’t need a high number of place servings - serving for six is sufficient. I wanted something that was both beautiful and functional, and the Mikasa 18-piece bone china dinnerware fit the bill perfectly.Dinnerware made from bone ash (i.e. “Bone China”) is mostly made from animal bones, usually bovine. Generally speaking, bone china tends to be a degree more expensive than porcelain. This is because their composition is inherently more durable, which may mean this Mikasa dinnerware might last you a whole lot longer than regular dinnerware - yes, it costs more but usually lasts longer. The best indication of quality Bone China is how much of the actual material is actually from bones (a higher percent allows for thinner, lighter and stronger plates and more translucence). The US minimum is 25%, China 30% and UK 50%. Most brands do not list their bone ash percent - and neither does Mikasa, as far as I could find.If you’re thinking about buying Corelle instead of bone China, just remember that Corelle is made from a type of tempered glass, not ash, and is not as exquisite, in my opinion. Corelle is sturdy, but not nearly as “pretty” as Bone China, IMHO.Bone China is described as “translucent.” Just remember that translucent means “permitting the passage of light but objects beyond cannot be seen clearly." No, you can’t see through these plates, but there is some light that passes through. What I like:- Beautiful design: The Mikasa dinnerware set features a classic white bone china design with a delicate embossed pattern. It's simple yet elegant, and it's sure to impress your guests.- Lightweight: Bone china is known for being lightweight and delicate, and this dinnerware set is no exception. It's easy to handle.- Chip resistant: Bone china is also known for being chip resistant, which is important for everyday use. I've had this dinnerware set for a few weeks now, and I haven't had a single chip or crack. Remember that chip resistance is (just like translucence) generally related to high bone ash - as I mentioned previously, the specs for this set don’t mention percent of bone ash but does say “made from high quality Bone Ash for superior strength and durability for everyday use.”- Microwaveable: This dinnerware set is microwaveable, which is a must-have for me. I often reheat leftovers or cook quick meals in the microwave, and it's nice to be able to use my dinnerware without having to worry about it getting damaged.- Dishwasher safe: This dinnerware set is also dishwasher safe, which makes cleanup a breeze.Drawbacks:- Price: Bone china dinnerware can be more expensive than other types of dinnerware, but I think the quality and durability of this set make it worth the investment. The cost of this dinnerware is pretty reasonable, IMHO.Overall, I'm very happy with my Mikasa 18-piece bone china dinnerware set. It's beautiful, lightweight, chip resistant, microwavable, and dishwasher safe. It's the perfect dinnerware set for a single person who wants something that is both stylish and functional.

Beautiful
This set of Mikasa dishes is quite beautiful. White with a simple design around the edges, it is perfect for everything from a sandwich to a fancy dinner. I've always loved Mikasa, and this set is no different. Easy to clean, the set is both dishwasher and microwave safe. The white will go with any decor or color scheme.

Beautiful but arrived broken
It looks beautiful but not as lightweight as Corelle dinnerware I am using. I had to return since one of the plates arrived broken. Please inspect the item carefully before sending to customers. It’s a hassle returning items.
