Sturdy and Stays Tight
After reading some reviews that this doesn’t hold all Nurge hoops and doesn’t stay tight, I was hesitant to order this floor stand. I’ve been very happy with my Nurge hoops, so I’m glad I decided to see for myself if this product is of the same quality. I needed to give my hand a rest from holding my hoop, and this has helped immensely. The stand is heavy enough to stay put with a nice, wide base, but it’s not so heavy that I can’t easily move it aside when I’m ready to get up from my stitching chair. With the number of joints it has to adjust, I found it easy to find the configuration that fits perfectly with my chair and my body. I wondered how it would be to flip to the back side of my project to bury and trim my threads. It is no problem at all. I don’t find it necessary to make the very top adjustment extra tight. My hoop stays in place, while I’m still able to easily flip it up for those purposes. I think this is an excellent stand, especially for the price difference compared with some of the other popular floor stands.

Perfect for a traveling stitcher!
Stupid expensive but worth every penny. I needed something small to use on a long road trip that I’ve taken many times before. This was perfect. Very sturdy. Easy to set up and take down. Can be used as a table stand or sitting on for lap use. I also was able to use it easily in our small car. I love the ease of being able to flip my work over when needed. I also have carpal tunnel and have no issues at all while using this holder.

Love this stand. Don't have to hold the hoop with my hands.
I am enjoying using this stand for my embroidery. Occasionally I have to retighten a few of the knobs, but not enough to be a bother. I love that I can lift up the hoop to check out the underside of my work without having to loosen the knob, yet the hoop is stable for sewing when down. I like that I don't have to sit on it. It sits firmly on the floor with my feet on the base. The wood is smoothly finished.

stable on the table, easy to assemble.
It is not easy to get to the back to tie knots. I need to disengage the hoop each time. Additionally, when I have "thicker fabrics, the outer hoop has a "space" where the hoop screws together... this is where the clamp holds the hoop, so the hoop has to be moved off center. Would be better if the clamp had two screws instead of one. But overall, well constructed and easy to adjust. Is weighted well at the base so that the clamp does not fall off the table, very smooth surface.

It helps keep your hoops stable.
I am very happy with this purchase. It works exactly as advertised. I have used it with small and larger hoops and had no issues. Easy to assemble and I can move it to other locations with no issues. I would purchase other items from this company.

really big!
I know the dimensions are listed, so it's my fault, but this frame is really big. If the arms were maybe 4" closer it would be more to my taste. I got the length extensions for it and it's neat now the plastic clips hold the fabric in, but my large project barely fits on with no room to roll it up or down. When I switch to a smaller project I'm not sure this frame will work at all. That said, the quality is excellent - wood is smooth and no cracks or splinters. It is easy to balance on my knee while sitting on the couch, and there are no painful bits of metal to dig into me or snag on my floss. Buy this if you work on large fabrics and are tired of your stand falling apart while you work.

Very well balanced
It’s sturdy, well-balanced, and the natural wood actually looks nice on my desk. Assembly was straightforward. The adjustability is what makes it worth the price. You can tilt, rotate, and move it around to find the perfect angle — huge relief for your neck and shoulders if you stitch for hours like I do. Only downside: the clamp might not grip very thin hoops tightly without a bit of tweaking. But once you find the sweet spot, it stays put. If you do any serious cross-stitching or embroidery, this thing will make your life easier. Feels like a professional upgrade over balancing the hoop on your knee. Good value and size, nice fit to my desk.

Excellent Purchase, but Need Strength to Tighten
After much searching, I decided this unit was best. The only problem for me as an 88-year-old is lack of strength to properly tighten the screws. I have managed to configure it so that it works for me and I now only have to untighten/tighten the section that holds the hoop in order to turn the hoop over to tie off the threads. The overall quality and construction is excellent, and I'm particularly impressed by the unit's ability to maintain its balance as a table top unit - as long as I don't pull the hoop mechanism out too far towards me. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others.

It’s great for working on my hoop. Lots of options to get it just right depending on how I’m sitting on the couch reclining etc. The only complaint is that it gets hard to turn the knobs if you have joint and muscle pain/weakness.

It does not let square frames or q snaps to fit
