Port of Lancaster Smokehouse Smoked EEL

Found a recipe for Spaghettini with smoked eel, garlic, chilli and pangrattato that I wanted to try out but couldn’t find anywhere locally that sold good smoked eel. Port of Lancaster Smokehouse to the rescue. Delicious, great quality smoked eel delivered to my door in their excellent cooled packaging. Will not hesitate to buy again - the recipe was a great success with the eel as the star of the show. I’ve made several purchases from Port of Lancaster now, all of which have been great quality items, despatched quickly with great care taken over packaging so they arrive in tip top condition.

The product was fine, tasted reasonably good. However, it didn't compare to the smoked eels I have had in nice restaurants so I don't feel this is something I'd buy again at this price.

Delicious, ace in sushi

These are disappointing, feeling like expensive smoked sardine. I had smoked ells in the past, they were melting, rich delicate taste, smaller in size. Won't buy again

Lovely quality fish, although a bit less smokey flavour than I expected/would have liked.

I like smoked eel , you can’t get it in shops so when I saw it advertised I had to have some , yummy

I really enjoyed the smoked eel. It is well presented and a fabulous flavour. The downside was the cost, including postage. So, I would definitely buy it again, but only when I can get to the shop in person.

Taste is just ok, though it’s not as good as what I had from France. The biggest issue is the bones! Unacceptable… >_<
