Vornado 279TR Whole Room Circulator with Remote, 1-8 Hour Timer, LED Display, Adjustable Tilt, Black

I bought this Vornado 279TR Whole Room Air Circulator Fan to try to make my garage a little more usable as a workshop in the very hot and humid South Carolina coastal summer. It definitely moves a lot of air around, and that does help. I produces a focused stream of moving air that is quite strong all the way across a 2-car garage, but you won't feel a great deal of movement outside that focused stream. Used as directed it will result in a lot of air circulation. That suits my needs, and may suit yours. The housing seems to be made of very strong, heavy duty plastic, and is quite sturdy and stable. It doesn't have any vibration or rattle noise at any of the 3 speeds. As others have said, there isn't an easy way to remove the fan cage to clean the blades, which I am sure they will need after a little while. My suggested engineering changes are move the on/off & speed controls on the fan frame away from the carrying handle, as it frequently gets turned on or off or the speed changed accidentally when picking it up or moving it around. Also the magnet that is supposed to hold the remote control in a convenient place needs to be a little stronger. The remote is very easily knocked off the holder, and is likely to fall into some place where it will be not easily found or retrieved from. These are small things, but should have been seen in beta testing and corrected before going live on the market. Some have described the noise level a low speed as being so quiet it's hard to tell the fan is on. I will disagree with that. It is not unpleasantly loud at low speed, but you will definitely know it is running. Medium and high speeds make a definite roar you won't miss at all. The lighted indicator for the speed is probably bright enough to annoy some in a sleeping room, but it is no problem as my usage. If you are light averse, look for a different fan. A timed automatic dimming or at least a manual control of the light would have been an appreciated touch.

The media could not be loaded. I am a big fan of this amazing Vornado fan and did I mention it is really quiet? . It has three settings and is made of a very durable plastic that will last for years. The three speeds allows you to control how cool you want to be. The design is really smart and you can adjust the direction easily. Great value, small and compact and very light weight.

Love it. Cools quickly and is Powerful. Timer is so beneficial Perfect size and sturdy weight so no chance of tipping.

This fan is the best fan I have bought in a long time. Really moves the air around the room. Most fans have a narrow air flow path. This one moves the air without needing to oscillate. I bought two of them. One for the bedroom and one for the living room. Love it.

Love it! I have purchased 2. Best small fan. Nice comforting sound for sleep but doesn't overpower if used in area where watching TV.

The fan does what it's supposed to, which is blow air, and it does it well. Three stars for that.The controls, however, reinvent the wheel, trying for a square tire. The capacitive buttons are just worse than a knob or physical buttons.- They're easy to accidentally press when moving the fan.- They're harder to intentionally press.- They release a loud, awful BEEP when pressed, ensuring that anyone in the room at night is alerted to the fact that the fan speed changed.Also, the fan has a tendency to start buzzing/rattling loudly. I've taken to resting a hand weight against it to stop it.There are plenty of choices for fans. Pick a different one.

the fan itself is a very very strong fan I have two have them I tried to order on amazon and never received them found at Costco for cheaper but want to leave a review about the fan itself.

At setting 2 it's barely audible but can blown papers and hair out the way. Works fast and looks sleek with black decor. Keeps you cool and at the 3rd setting might get cold so don't fall asleep with it on your face lol.Truly my favorite mini fan that can cool down a bedroom with ease
