Realized I should have gotten the taller one with the lights. This is very small and everything has to be super zoomed in.

As can be seen, the height-adjustable stage of the one I received is all one piece, not 3 attached pieces as shown in the stock photos. That makes me think that the stock photos are possibly of a prototype, not a final iteration. That said, a one piece stage makes more sense as regards structural integrity. The unit is probably solid enough but by no means highly precise. For example, the two large knobs do adjust the distance of the traveling stage from the platform, but you must tighten the small knob on the back to maintain and keep that distance. This makes it a two-handed operation. I suspect this type of design may be obligatory for cheap microscope stands, but it could certainly be improved upon. It is handsome and well-finished, however. Though it succeeds at its purpose, I would say it is somewhat overpriced.

I guess sometimes instructions are just not needed and in this case that was true. I got this to compliment a digital Microscope. It really is invaluable in order to stabilize it. I just wasn't able to hold it steady enough without a little help. The stand solidly holds the microscope. It as a rubber washer and well protected screws that hold the DM in place without danger of harming it while locked into the holder. All in all, well worth the price.
