Nope! Try Again The Fellowes Calibre has an inbuilt feature called a Pouch Tracking System. The feature ensures laminating pouches being fed through are inserted correctly before the process of laminating can begin. Sounds like a great idea but in practice, it made the laminator extremely frustrating to use. The problem is you have to be very precise both in the way you align and insert the pouch, otherwise the machine will automatically reject and reverse it for you to try again. And it wouldn't be so bad if the PTS kicked in immediately but no; The pouch is fed through a few centimetres, the top gets laminated and then it's rejected. I found using A3 pouches to be especially tricky, and on one occasion, it took about six or seven attempts before successfully laminating a single pouch. Annoying Beeps If the above isn't enough to make you pull out your hair, this surely will. Every status and user action is accompanied by a beep, some, very loud. And these high pitch sounds can't be turned off. Switch on the laminator? two beeps. Press a button? another beep. Laminator ready? three LOUD beeps. Pouch rejected? Beep! It's just too much. Laminate Quality I tested the laminator using 80 micron glossy pouches and regardless of the micron setting selected, the laminator used too much heat which resulted in laminates with an uneven and textured surface. The quality is acceptable I guess, but I expected better considering how much this laminator costs. To be fair, the documentation suggests using Fellowes' own laminating pouches and doing so may well get you better results. Overall I found the Fellowes 5740201 Calibre a disappointment. It just goes to show just because something is expensive doesn't necessarily mean it's any good. I returned this product and have since purchased a £20 A3 laminator that produces smooth, professional looking laminates.

Bought for the Wife as she is a primary school teacher and forever laminating stuff, we had a cheap one before but was too small and had to line everything up perfect or it would scrunch up the sides. This however is an awesome piece of kit, she says it's far better than the schools own one. Very quick heat up time, probably under 60 seconds. Doesn't start to stink too much after a lot of laminating like some other ones. Over all a very capable machine.

No issues using this product. The only thing in my opinion I think it's missing, it's some sort of adjustment based on different sizes of the pouches. Right now it's a manual process of holding the pouch until the laminator starts the process. No major issue but would help if there was an way adjust the size in order to hold the pouch straight as it gets feed into the laminator.

You would have to look far and wide to find a better product. Laminates A4 and A3 to perfection. What more do you want from a laminator? An excellent product at a great price.

for the price you would think it would be reasonably quick, stated warm up time is for lowest setting than most laminating pouches aren't, and the time to put a4 paper through is well over a minute, much quicker cheaper ones available.
