A few tricks they don't tell you about.
I bought this for a bathroom renovation.....literally one wall that's 9 foot tall by about 15 long. This worked great. I used the Hobart premixed texture that came in ~ 1 gallon size. You could use sheetrock mud and save some money but I was looking for speed more than anything. The spray gun works really well but there are a few things to note. It has a gate valve at the handle that puzzled me since, one would assume, the trigger controls the flow of everything. It doesn't. The trigger only controls the flow of the texture/mud. If the gate valve is open and it must be for the whole contraption to work, the air is constantly flowing out the center hole of the sprayer end. When you pull the trigger, that moves the internals backwards allowing the mud to flow in, get picked up by the air, and sprayed at the wall. If your air compressors is small, it'll exhaust your air supply very quickly. I would spray a bit, turn the valve off, let it build pressure, then get back at it. You can adjust the size of the "chunks" coming out of the gun a couple of ways....change out the tip or back the internals out a bit using the knob on the back of the spray gun. I was able to fine tune the smallest tip easily and not have to change it out to a larger tip. The larger tips must be chunking pecan sized globs of texture is all I can think......way to large for me so I'm glad I didn't use them. Well worth the money. The cans of texture at Lowe's are almost as much as I paid for this gun. Defintely worth it if you'll be using this 2 or more times much less if you use it often. I can't imagine this thing breaking. It's well made and simple. Only complaint is the hopper could probably be bigger but then you'd have a lot of weight to control so maybe that's a good thing.

Great value for 1-time use
Nearly 1/2 the cost of what I could find at my big-box store, and it worked great for light popcorn texture on walls & ceiling of a fairly large bathroom reno. I've never done texture before, and this tool made it very simple. Easy to clean, setup, and use. Came w/ multiple nozzles (w/ no instructions). As many people have pointed out, the hopper easily falls off. This happened once while on the ladder doing the ceiling and it made a bit of a mess. I wish it was better attached.

Great little hopper gun for wall texture.
Hopper gun worked es expected. Comes with three different tips to adjust the thickness of the texture. Very easy to use and clean. Textured orange for peel at 30psi in several rooms without issues. Will recommend this over more pricey big box store versions.

Wonderful
Used this to texture my garage and it worked great. I had never did knockdown before in my life but it was pretty simple to use and I got the hang of it pretty quick. Very glad I bought it and it did a great job.

First-timer with great results formula below in my comments.
First time drywall texturing for me ever. Super easy to use and set up. You do need to purchase a female threaded quick connector to pop into your end of the air compressor hose. I needed a somewhat smaller grain splatter texture to match my walls. Watched every YouTube video I could over the course of four hours to try and get an idea of what to do. I ended up setting my air compressor at 90 PSI and had the throttle wide open on this Hopper. I used the medium size tip. I used the Green Top sheetrock compound in a 5 gallon bucket from Home Depot. Mixed water in slowly until the batter what is the consistency of very very thick paint. Thicker than pancake batter. Shot the texture from approximately 2 to 3 ft in a circular pattern very aggressively. here is one important point. My air compressor was a central pneumatic 21 gallon 125 Max psi compressor. If you allow the air pressure in the tank to get below 90 PSI it will start to splatter larger splats. I decided to just spray for about 45 seconds up to 1 minute and then just leave the valve open but discontinue spring so that the pressure in your air compressor lower the enough to kick the motor back on. Wait for it to fill back up again up to max PSI and then begin your spray pattern again. This gave a very consistent spray pattern for me. If you have a smaller air compressor you will want to only spray for a very short duration of maybe 15 to 30 seconds, wait for your compressor to kick on let it fill all the way up and then rinse and repeat. Cleanup could not be easier.

Medium satisfaction
First the good points: Inexpensive, it works, and the gun is fairly easy to clean. The bad points: Useless instructions, useless hopper clamp, No air control lever (was shown in picture), no 1/4 inch air hose adapter. Since there are limited instructions, I had to take the gun apart to figure out what the adjustment knob on the rear was for. It is just the spring tension adjustment for the texture opening. There is a hopper clamp at the base that is useless because the hopper plastic is hard and solid. The gun has an O-ring at the hopper junction that does most of the work. If you fill the hopper, you need to hold the hopper. Otherwise it will slip off the O-ring. I show up at a work site with my gun still in the box only to find out the gun does not have an air hose connection. No problem, I'll just take one off a nail gun. Wrong. The texture gun takes a female thread and the nail gun are male. Needed a trip to the store and a $1.50 part. I had a small pancake air compressor at the site. It works but you have to make lots of stops to let the air pressure catch up. Since there is no air control off lever on the gun, you have to disconnect the air hose. I haven't tried the gun with my bigger compressor. I used the small 4 mm nozzle and had mostly medium to large orange peel. Would like to get a smaller nozzle.

I purchased the item because I needed a way to texture a ceiling in the area where I had replaced about 20 square feet of drywall. I had used the CGC Synko Lite Line All Purpose Drywall Compound (premixed) so that the mud was the consistency of mayonaise. I only need the ceiling speckled and it did the trick. I learnt that I need to keep the mud reservoir more full because when you spray the ceiling, the spray gun needs to be angled. I suppose an improvement to the design would be to have an angled nozzle or mud reservoir for that purpose. Cleaning of the spray gun is pretty straight forward as the mud I was using could be rinsed out with tap water and a spray hose. Outside of that, worked great and seems to be least inexpensive option for texturing as long as you have an air compressor.

Bought this to use for my client's project and this turned out amazing! Better than some of the big brand name ones I have purchased before. Got this when it was on sale so it was even better. The result came out alot better than I expected from an unknown brand and the canister wasn't too big like the other ones so it wasn't too heavy to walk around with it. It is also not too small that I have to keep refilling it. Relatively durable and its still good after using it for 2 projects now. You can see in the picture the texture it shot out.

solo le faltaría que le agregaran una unión (cople) de 45° entre la pistola y tolva para poner textura en los techos y así no se salga la mezcla de la tolva.
