Zora Arkus-Duntov: The Legend Behind Corvette

His early life is not all very interesting to me but I'm not half way through it and it keeps getting better. A good read for those who like tech info too.

I bought this used book as an anniversary for my husband (he's a Corvette fan). It's brand new and arrived in no time! What a great surprise! I had previously ordered this book twice and the orders were always cancelled by the sellers.Thank you, he loves it!

I have followed and had a passion for Vettes since 1957; ( I was 10 years old then). A dentist in the small country town I lived near owned a new 1957 Corvette, with fuel injection. When he would drive by the farm I lived at, on his way to the office, I would ride my bike into town and stop in the back of his office to admire this beautiful car. I made a vow that someday I would own a Corvette. Years later, in 1964, I bought my first Corvette (Z06-375 HP roadster) from Doane Motors, Chevrolet and Cadillac, in Dundee IL. Shortly after, on one of my visits to Doane's, I came face to face with Zora Duntov. Zora was there to work with Dick Doane (the dealership owner) on continued development of the Stingray racing program as well as other cars that were raced out of Doane Motors. It was at that time I started to learn how instrumental Zora Duntov was to Corvette and GM performance in general. From my perspective, the book, "Zora Arkus-Duntov-The Legend Behind Corvette", nails it!

I recommend this book for anyone who loves Corvettes. I purchased it as a gift for my supervisor, but found myself looking through it. It's a fascinating look at the father of the Corvette.

A die hard Corvette fan will love this book and it's associated history that accompanies the Corvette. It will also appeal to any person that wants to read a story about someone who sets his sights high and makes something out of himself. He is one of the true icons of the auto industry standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the greatest engineers to date.

An interesting book about a fascinating man. The subject is viewed through the favorable eyes of the author. Duntov lead an extremely interesting and active life. If you have an interest in Corvettes, this book is a must. If not, the book is of value as it tells the story of a very interesting person.

Very very interesting book on the Father (but not creator) of the Corvette. The book brings the legend to life. If you have already put Zora on a Pedestal, then you may not want to read this book as it shows his human side (but does not tarnish it). On the other hand if you want to know the inside story on someone who had a tremendous influence on automotive history, then read this book. If you want to learn about how the Corvette happened and grew, then this book is for you.
