What happen to Secret Jardin?
What happen to this company? I’ve owned their DR90 tents in the past and loved it. This particular model is a step down in quality design. The lower vents and windows are much higher than what’s typical for tents. They come up about to almost 2ft from the bottom. This is silly and unusual for those that like to bring in air from the bottom. Their other tents aren’t like this. They replaced the metal hook bars that support your equipment with plastic hooks. PLASTIC HOOKS that attach to metal bars. WHY? And now we only get 3 top hanging bars instead of 4. WHY? They replaced the plastic corner pieces with cheaper thinned out plastic. They are thinner and hollowed out making them weaker than what they had before. WHY? Now the stitching. Anyone who’s owned a tent likely knows these things always have little pin holes, it’s not a big deal. This thing looks like Helen Keller did the stitching in some places. Each of the vent holes is where the horrible stitching is, but also along the top. It looks like in could literally rip just moving the support bars along the top. Horrible QC. I would be embarrassed to put my name on something like this. Now the smallest complaint, the vent holes are all 10-12 inch. Who on Earth is going to need that kind of venting on a small personal tent? If you need to use 10 inch ducting, you shouldn’t be using a small tent like this. Want to set your can fan on the roof to vent like you can with most tents, NOPE! Not going to happen. This tent was such a departure from my previous experiences with Secret Jardin that I almost thought it was counterfeit. Obviously trying to cut costs, they’ve sacrificed quality. Why any stars? The thickness and quality of the material itself is good, too bad it’s not stitched together properly. The added trellis net and mid support bars are a nice touch. I really liked these two features. It’s a shame that they’re easy to overlook due to poor design and quality control. My advice, go with the other big name in the business, or some of the cheaper competitors. I wouldn’t recommend the tent I received to anyone.
