Nice, easy read
The Exchange presents characters that are believable and sympathetic. Though the mystery is quickly revealed, the lengths to which the protagonists go to catch those involved makes for good reading.

Great Read!!!!
This was my 1st Dustin Stevens novel but most certainly NOT my last!! Fluid writing style, wonderful characters and a fast paced plot with an edge of your seat, jaw grinding, can't put it down no matter what ending!!! Looking forward to the 2nd in the series!!!

well written crime mystery
I have read many crime mysteries and this was one of the best. The author discloses just enough to keep the reader hooked in, until there’s more to learn. He moves between groups of people involved in the plot with skill and precision, again, allowing the reader to put himself or herself into the story. I felt as if I was there and I enjoyed putting the pieces together as the drama unfolded.

Meh...
430 pages3 starsI think I like Mr. Stevens’ K-9 stories better. This book was awfully slow reading and switched views without warning. I think the premise was a good one, but it wasn’t carried well. The story just didn’t do anything for me.

Enjoyed the characters!
It took a while for the story to get moving or maybe I should say understanding the pieces. It finally fit together well.

Great beginning of a new series
Loved the characters! Loved the Big Bear setting. Very few editing errors (I.e. “remaining” for “retaining”) - not enough to stop the flow. We found out who the bad guys were fairly early on, but the pacing of the discoveries by our team of heroes was what kept me on the edge of my seat. Although it took a lot of connections and timely information for everything to come together, given our heroes’ backgrounds, it all felt plausible rather than coincidental. I look forward to more Hobby Lobby exploits.

Hobby Looby Book1
The Exchange is a book that was written in 2018. The setting is a small mountain town called Big Bear Lake. Erika Wernick returns home to recover from a horrendous car accident, and agrees to meet her Uncle and two of his retired buddies. These guys refer to themselves as the Hobby Lobby and spend time reviewing unsolved cold cases. The group decide to investigate a young reporter whose death was ruled a suicide. This book is filled with twists and turns, which we are familiar with and have come to expect with Stevens crime series. After 6 years, Stevens has written another adventure of the Hobby Lobby gang, Badger Games. I can't wait to read this next book in the series.

Another great Dustin Stevens Novel
Rarely do I not enjoy a Dustin Stevens book and this one is an absolute beauty. Great plot, a real page turner. I truly hope that he turns these characters into a series. I only gave it 5 stars as there was not an option to award it more.
