Q: Will a phone fit in the exterior pocket?

I have an IPhone and it fits great in side pocket. Love all the dividing sections of purse. I use the section being shown with an umbrella for my bottled water. My long wallet fits perfectly in the long section - A+

Q: Are the dividers connected to the bottom of the bag all the way across? I'm asking if there is any slit under any part of them.

No. The section dividers are not attached to the bottom of the purse. I’m enjoying this purse more than I thought. So well made, dividers are tight across and MY items are held in place nicely. (I keep my small items in an enclosed pouch within my purse.)
