I'm not sure why, but many manufacturers of flash drives and SD cards seem to have started putting their products in overly elaborate packaging. This particular drive comes in a laminated wood effect MDF clam-shell box, lined with EVA foam. It's certainly nice to look at, but it's totally unnecessary. At least it's recyclable, I suppose.The drive itself is nicely constructed and feels robust. It has an aluminium outer shield that swivels to reveal the USB socket. The swivel is perhaps a little loose, but that's a minor complaint. The main body of the drive feels like plastic, with a rubberised coating.Performance wise, it's a mixed bag. Read speeds are excellent. It averaged 130MB/s in my benchmark tests. Write speeds, however, were not so good. The drive only managed an average of 18MB/s via USB 3. So, it's OK for general use. As the read speeds are good, it might make a decent drive for playing video content.Overall, this is a very usable thumb drive. Certainly not the best available, but it's reliable and decently made.

This ships in a jiffy type bag, but does have its own shrink-wrapped retail box inside. The box is made of low-grade wood wrapped in a veneer. It gives of the impression of quality if you don’t look really closely.Opening the box, we find the USB drive recessed into some foam padding as if it was fragile camera equipment. It seems like a deliberate attempt to portray a quality item. Unfortunately, the effect is slightly ruined by the strong plastic smell in the box and that the box contained dirt and debris (probably from the factory)NB: The box was completely shrink wrapped with no tears and not a used item as far as I could tellWindows displays the formatted capacity as 58.5GB in one basic volume. The metal of the sheath is shiny when new but unfortunately quickly picks up finger prints. There is also a small cutout in the sheath where you can attach it to a lanyard if you desire (no lanyard is provided)Overall a good basic no frills USB drive which exhibits good performance results

Ignore the pun. But it definitely come in a great imitation wooden box. But looks good. Unlike 99% of others come in a stupid plastic container.As for the drive itself it definitely works great. Very fast and seems very reliable.Great value for money and easy to use.
