Dance Anatomy Review: Useful go-to reference for the serious dancer - This is a very intelligently presented and useful book aimed at the non-medically trained dancer who wants both a sound introduction to movement anatomy and strategies for improving the way they use and look after their body. The technical aspect of things is clearly explained without dumbing down and the writer is able to connect concepts to the dancer’s experience and concerns. The illustrations are well done, the suggested exercises are clearly explained, and the overall organisation of the book is very good. I own a number of books on dance anatomy; some are more technical and/or comprehensive than this one, some are even more pragmatic/practical, but it’s the Haas book that I return to most frequently. Review: awesome - wish it were hard cover as it will be handled everyday. the type is large enough to read, the line spacing is sufficient, the pics are great as they assist in the written explanation. I love this book.

Highly recommend!
As a physical therapist and a dance teacher I can appreciate this book in many ways. It does a great job of explaining the relevant anatomy and provides exercises that are more specific for dance as compared to traditional strengthening.

Indispensable for anyone teaching or working in Dance, Massage, or any physical activity
I have the first edition and bought this for a friend--I wish I could justify getting one for myself, if only for the spectacular cover photo.

This is a great book useful for all those dancers, teachers, yogini and therapists that need a deeper knowledge of biomechanical movement in dance

I love everything about this book and also its predecessor, the 1st edition. A refreshingly simple, yet accurate introduction to anatomy and range of movement. In addition, specific information to help dancers really understand the specifics of their particular needs. Every dance department or school would benefit from sharing this book with their students. I also think it's an outstanding anatomy test for Yoga Teachers too; there is a sophistication in the dance sciences that lends itself well to the art of Yoga postures and flows.
