Overall this is a very nice kit. High quality parts, sharp looking contemporary take on classic barn door hardware. The instructions are ok for the most part except that they say that the pole is pre drilled every 16” and that’s not true, no holes are pre-drilled in the poll and none are needed. The wall mounts can be moved to be mounted anywhere on the poll (which is a good thing but is contrary to what the instructions say). The instructions also say you need to use a headboard but I didn’t use one and it came out great IMO. The only other “complaint” I have is that in order to use the included floor guide you need route a slot into the bottom of the door, and a router is not something most people have just sitting around the house. I used my circle saw to do it but it was not easy and pretty dangerous. For my install I got lucky that there was a wood stud in wall right where I needed it on one side so my pole goes into the wall through a wood studd which holds the weight of the door without a problem. The other side of the poll I was able to mount to the wall where my studs happen to be rather than having to use dry wall ankers whcih came with the kit that I seriously doubt would hold the weight of the door.I also purchased the SmartStandard door handle set which is also very nice. On a whole most of the install was easy except the floor guide which requires a hammer drill and masonry screws to mount to a ceramic tile over concrete floor and to rout a slot in the bottom of the door. The door slides very smoothly. In addition to the provided floor guide I also purchased a floor guide with a wheel to keep the door close to the wall when it is open and it also worked very nicely.

I purchased these for a project. They shipped quickly, the box was a little heavy, which is good because I was worried about quality. They are sturdy, quality for the money, quiet and glide nicely. Highly recommend. I am ordering more for another project!

I bought two of these; one for a narrow linen closet door in the bathroom, and one for the door to master bathroom. This item is very well made and easy to install. The design allows plenty of leeway to have the door edge fall where you want it, and the mechanism operates very smoothly. I replaced a bothersome, picky pocket door to the bathroom with one of these. It's a dramatic improvement, and I love the style. I mounted a simple hollow core interior door on it and it works great. I also like that the door can be very close to the door frame, allowing maximum privacy. It's not totally sealed shut like a pocket or hinged door, but depending on the door frame, it can be a very close fit. Don't be afraid to get a wider door than "necessary" to maximize privacy as well. I used a 32 inch wide door for a 26 inch wide opening.

We installed this on our barndoor from our master bedroom to the bathroom. We choose this since it was one of the few which was in stainless steel (to contrast the black stain) and tubular rail.Installation was quite easy, find the studs, drill pilot holes, and zip them in. We only used one spacer since we wanted to reduce the light coming through the sides as much as possible. Since the brackets are adjustable, it made it easy to secure to studs without a header board.One of the negatives is the finish. Some of the brackets were rough around the edges and slightly damaged. The rail also connects in two pieces in a very loose way. Also, we installed the door stops facing up, facing them down touched and damaged the wall. Overall, it looks good from far away and rolls smooth.

This is for a unique application and I was able to modify the two systems I bought into one continuous rail for two separate doors both opening left with a wall between the closet and bathroom. The rollers are so quiet and sturdy. Very happy with these. (Suggestion: If you don't already have a high-quality stud finder I would highly recommend buying one for this installation. Putting the supports "on studs" became so simple and made the whole installation go so easily.)

This unit worked perfectly for our barn door that we put on our closet. It is attractive and appears extremely sturdy. It rolls very smoothly. Both the contractor myself thought that the quality versus the price was extremely strong.I did have the contractor install it. It doesn't look particularly difficult but if you're not handy you may want someone to install it for you.Only thing the contractor an myself didn't like was the piece that guides the door on the bottom so we purchased a different one that we liked.

Fantastic product. The builder had installed a mounting board and a heavy, black iron barn door rail in my home that was completely out of place so I figured I'd give the Smartstandard hardware a try.Great move -- easy as can be to install. Simply dropped the five supplied anchors into the existing holes that the builder used, attached the five rail brackets and then secured the rail. The whole install took about 30 minutes. Directions were easily understandable and all of the hardware fit without any issues.The entire set up looks great and is a huge improvement from the previous hardware. Terrific look, easy install, great price -- can't be beat.

The rail was much easier to install than I expected. I needed to cut 3" off the one end to get the rail to fit my wall, but was not a problem using a metal cutting blade on my reciporcating saw. I also needed to make a few adjustment tweaks to get the 85 lbs door to roll without rubbing, but again it was an easy fix. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
