Clean and mess-free applicator
This oil and wax applicator works so well I wish I had found and purchased it years ago when I got my cutting board. The design of the applicator allows for easy, mess-free spreading of the mineral oil, allowing you to apply the oil on the edges and sides without the splattering you would get from even the most careful use of a brush and without wasting paper towels. The included plastic storage container keeps the applicator clean and ready for its next use.

Smooth Job
Well made. Spreads mineral oil and was easily and evenly. Keeps the mess to a minimum and the finish is smooth and resilient to water. They are a bit pricey, but do the job that ordinary cotton rags can't do. I highly recommend.

Looks nice and works well
Fast shipping. Super easy to use. Seems like it will be durable but haven't had it long enough to tell . Feels good in the hand .

Good idea, but needs to be refined
In my honest opinion, the sponge on this applicator is too thick, thus wasting oil. It is easy to use, easy to hold, and does the job, but it is inefficient and wasteful. As much as I hate having oil on my hands, I am going back to a plain old paper towel, then washing my hands. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this product.

great product
Never thought of using more than a paper towel. This is one of those things that you don't know that you need until you review it. Unlike that paper towels that leave a residue, this is scratch resistant. Its use is very smooth. Worth the money.

Tried other products, this works best.
I bought this applicator and it worked so good I wore it out. Thought i could replace it with a cheaper product. I got one cheaper but it wasn't nearly as good. Brushes aren't good with mineral or tung oil. This thing spreads oil so well I can't praise it enough! In the end I bought the New version and it works even better. The new design makes it quicker to do the job with no waste at all. They came it with a better fit that increases your speed covering surfaces with such ease. I'm sticking with these products, because the pads work great too. Tried a different model with those and same thing happened. the Clark products work the best. Your cutting boards look amazing, not a wasted or spilled drop of oil and the work on knife handles as well. Don't waste your money experimenting with other products, stick with Clark's because they are the BEST! I proved it myself on 5 bamboo boards and 4 Japanese cooking knives. Paul J. Frontiero Oh, don't forget the wax too. A combination of 2 waxes that seal the oil in and leaves a beautiful shine and fragrant smell.

Recommended - as long as you're committed to proper maintenance of wooden cutting boards
I've been using in conjunction with the Clark's cutting board oil. When transitioning from plastic cutting boards to wooden boards, I never imagined that I'd be committing to the amount of maintenance required to clean, oil, and wax my boards (maple). But, the Clark's products have worked well and the occasional oiling and waxing hasn't been an onerous inconvenience. When oiling my cutting board, I take advantage of the opportunity to give my wooden utensils a quick wipe - keeps them "nice and fresh"

Fits the Clark's wax tub perfectly and applies wax to your board very well
When I first invested in a really, really good (and expensive) (and large) Boos Block cutting board, I went with the Boos Mystery Oil and Board Cream (wax). The oil was great, but the board wax was in a squeeze tube and I always ended up applying way too much wax to the board, leaving a super thick layer overnight, and removing the excess the next day with at least 12 paper towels. I then tried out the Clark's wax and applicator. The applicator makes applying a nice thin even layer of wax to the board SUPER quick and easy with almost no wasted product. The applicator is the perfect size to apply some wax from the small plastic tub of Clark's wax, and glides effortlessly over the cutting board. One small tub of Clark's wax will easily last me over a year or two because there's almost zero excess wasted product using the applicator. I store the applicator and wax in a small ziploc baggie in between monthly board maintenance. Highly recommend this if you take care of your cutting boards/blocks!
