Good idea. However instructions give two different drill sizes required, 31/64ths and .27. 31/64ths is way too big and will make vent cap unable to be installed. Fortunately I measured cap insertion plug and it is just under 5/16th, .3125. Difficult to find a .27 drill, I used 5/16ths, cleaned area well, and applied sealant. Cap works well, no leaks.

Good value. Does not come with drill so you will need one of the correct size to make hole for snap fit. Does not come with rubber washer, as some others do, so there is some small leakage when can is full and sloshed around. Overall works well and is cheaper for same quality as others.

This item does not come with the required drill bit to install these. The strap that holds the insert to the cap is very flimsy.

Well I was surprised these worked out great tight fit.

They appear well made. But the diameter of the post is too small. If your replacing a defective vent cap these are probably too small in diameter.

These do not come with a rubber washer which pretty much renders them useless. Makes no sense whatsoever,
