axGear High Quality DB25 USB to Female Parallel IEEE 1284 Printer Adapter Cable Cord

With the new technology many old printers port are not compatible unless to usb. Finally I can continue using my HP printer with this adapter. Fits perfect and I'm back in business.

Does not identify as a lpt or usb port in windows 10

Doesn't work for an old plotter I tried to setup. Will buy another cord that someone else recommended if it works then I'll know what's the product and not just me

Works with my old HP Laserjet 4000T on Windows 11. Only had to install the printer drivers. The color is not the same as the picture on Amazon, but it is not an issue for me.

This item does not come up as a LPT port in Device Manager in Windows. No driver exists that will fix this because the chip inside is a WHC-CH431 which only works as an adapter to your smart printers. It will not work with non-PnP printers. The Title description clearly says it is a IEEE 1284 capable cable. It is not. However in the detailed description down further in the ad there is no mention of it being an IEEE 1284 cable. Hmm??? I wonder why that is the case with this item and seller. Amazon has obviously dealt with customer concerns and issues resulting in HIGH return rates on this item. There you have it.

i needed a parallel port for a newish computer but using old software from the 90s, they need a real parallel port to to use the printer menu within the sw plus it also use a parallel port security key dongle which is not recognized by the sw as being plugged in. going to try a pcie parallel port device addon

Sadly, This did not work on Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 7.
