My 4 year old grandson absolutely loved this for his birthday and declared it his favorite gift which says a lot when you are competing with all the other presents a kid gets! This explorer kit is such a great value for everything you receive. The safari vest, hat, binoculars, flashlight, bug catcher container, and drawstring bag all feel well made and not cheap or flimsy like you might expect at this price point. We paired it with a bug book and it was the perfect combo to get him outside, curious, and learning. What I love most is that this kit will grow with him and it is not something he will outgrow in a season. I can see him using this for years. If you are looking for a gift for a kid who seems to have everything, this is it. It sparks imagination, gets them off screens, and makes them feel like a real little adventurer. Highly recommend!

I purchased one in blue for my daughter (6) and one in pink her bestie (5) because we are all going camping together and they both loved them! The binoculars seem like they actually have some magnification, they feel sturdy and like the girls could pretty rough with them and they would hold up! I was pleasantly surprised the vest and hat are made from a nice soft but sturdy material and look very cute. The girls both loved all the pockets and putting their buttons on it. I really appreciated the hat has a velcro break away just in case. The compass does not seem accurate at all but honestly that wasn't a huge problem for us. We didn't realize the flashlights have a little lock for the squeeze mechanism so at first we thought they were broken. Overall definitely worth the money! We cannot wait to take this camping!

Nice kit, the children loved playing explorers. The only reason why I gave it a four star is because I don’t like plastic.

Excellent gift for my grandson. He's really enjoying looking for bugs out in the backyard and constantly video calls me to tell what all he found. I guess you can say it's been a great gift for both of us.

This was a birthday gift for my nephew who just turned 4 years old! He was into the planets and the solar system for the last 2 years but recently he has shown interest in insects etc by digging holes in my parent's backyard and pulling up worms and any other bugs he finds. I figured why not make it a learning experience as well as having fun so I purchased this as one of his birthday gifts. I wish I took a video of him opening this gift up because his reaction was priceless! He was so EXCITED and usually when he opens gifts he'll open one, look at it quickly and then on to the next gift but not this time. He opened it up, took everything out piece by piece, looking at each item and really examining it, then showing each piece to everyone in the room and telling us what he planned on doing in Nonni and Nonno's backyard the following day. He was so happy!!!! I was a little nervous about the items being cheaply made because unfortunately now a days things aren't made like they use to be made BUT you don't have to worry about that with this purchase because my nephew has been playing with his gift for about 2 weeks now and hasn't had any issues. If you're looking for a gift for a child who's into insects, digging up worms/bugs, playing in the backyard etc then this is definitely for you. There's so much to do with all of the cool things you get inside this bag....you won't be disappointed!

OK, this is really cool. I got this for my grandson because I got him one earlier this for Christmas and his brother didn’t have one so yesterday or the day before he let his brother wear it and use it and I thought that was so sweet so I decided to get him a replacement so he could have one too and now they both have them and this was a little bit bigger because the other one was probably he was on the verge of outgrowing it so this one was larger so it worked out well and he’s very happy with it and it came with these little things with it too like jars for catching insects and stuff and yeah their boys. What do you expect I’d get one and actually girls can wear one too what the heck it’s this year shoot let them do that.

I would not have ordered this Explorer Kit if I had to use cash, but I used credit card points. As a fun outdoor kit, I thought it was too expensive. The quality is really good and getting the larger size means my granddaughter will be able to wear it for many years. The tools that come with it are great, encouraging imaginative play and learning, but I didn’t need them. We own or could improvise each piece (how many bug catchers and binoculars does a kid need?). So why not buy just the vest? There are none available that I could find in the right size. In desperation I ordered an explorers vest from a different supplier through Amazon and received a spot welding kit. Long story, strange mix up, but Amazon handled it and I got a refund. Why desperation? The kid is doing a presentation at school and it was this kit or a frilled lizard costume … what happened to a nice dress for presentations? Anyway, we got this and are really satisfied with it. I’d recommend it if you don’t mind getting all the extras and think the price is okay.
