A fraction of the hardware store price. These are right around 1/4” thick, not quite the 3/8” of typical straight pieces, but they will work nicely.

This is a poor product that is virtually unusable. It is maybe half the thickness of standard insulation elbows. Cannot even use with standard PVC insulation because it is so thin. Spend the extra money and buy a quality product!

Pre-cut insulation tubing designed to fit pipe elbows to make the insulation more effective and inclusive of all the pipe twists and turns parts. The insulation foam is not very thick but I think that’s by design so it will go under the pipe insulation without leaving any exposed piping.

I've been insulating copper hot water pipes in some new construction. Pre-made elbows like these really speed up the installation. I ran out of my supply and these were the only ones I could get quickly at a reasonable price. They are OK, but the interior hole is really too small for 1/2" copper pipe. The seam that allows you to install them doesn't completely close unless you apply a strip of duck or aluminum tape. In my application it probably does not matter, but I might feel different if I was using them for freeze protection.

Worked great for what we needed. Insulation for a couple of angled pipes for our tankless water heater. The tankless is in the garage but next to an outside wall and the condensation line started to freeze in the cold. All fixed now.

What I expected from the photo was a thicker pipe insulation, way thinner, as such doubt the insulation value. You would have to double up to get a decent thickness. I ended up using these to fill gaps at the corners and ran the other straight insulation up and over the thin wall product - I Would Not But This Item Again. Disappointed but make it work by doing an overlapping seal. The split being on the outside runs counter intuitive to keep the product wrapped around a pipe, should be slit on the opposite side!

Here’s why the question was asked. They showed up like this and the aluminum isn’t coming off.

These things are decent. Way better than homemade elbows. The diameter is a little weird though. They won't fit over Pex A or B fittings properly (which is required in 100% of use cases), and you'll have to put zip ties around the elbow to get them to pull tight. Also the outer diameter is smaller than normal pipe insulation, which makes them look out of place. If they added 1/4" extra ID so they fit nicely over elbows they would be perfect.
