Great starter violin!!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my 11yr old niece and it’s a really good starter violin. Here are somethings you should know if you’re not knowledgeable about violins:The bridge isn’t installed because you never ship a violin with it on, you have to put it on yourself (I’ve seen some reviews complaining about that). Other reviews complained about the strings being loose…they have to be loose when shipping or they could snap. Since it’s a brand new violin with strings, you will have to constantly tune it the first few times you play it. That goes with any new violin or any time you put on a new set of strings. If you don’t know how to properly tighten/string a violin, please google how to do it first so YOU don’t snap them and then blame it on the seller LOL. Also, google how to tune the violin so you know how to use the pegs and the fine tuners. Next, the bow is an ehhh ok starter bow. Some people are complaining that some hairs fall off, but that’s what happens with any new bow you get. Some hairs fall off when it’s first tightened and some will fall when first playing it. IT’S NOT A BIG DEAL. It’ll stop after a while. The hairs are still a little loose even when it’s tightened though. I would suggest to get a better bow down the road if you or your kid decides to continue playing. The rosin sucks, I had to use my own because it wasn’t applying on the bow hairs very good and it chips very easily. Remember to scratch up the top of the rosin before applying. I ended up cutting the blue stripes off the fingerboard sticker and applying them separately because they wouldn’t have been in the correct spot if I stuck the whole sticker on. On to the tuner lol it technically works, but it needs to be right over the f-holes. It won’t hear the note if it’s anywhere farther. I clipped it on the bridge and that worked. BUT I would download a tuner app on your phone instead. That will work way better.Overall, this violin is great for being only $40. It feels good, sounds pretty dang good for its price and that $40 includes a lot. It doesn’t feel crazy cheap and it will last a few years. 4 stars!

A decent start for fiddling around.
This review may sound negative, but I’m happy with my purchase especially since it was on sale.I bought this with zero musical knowledge mainly to goof off with until my ADHD finds something new. It has issues, but it’s more of a learning experience. The rosin shattered in my hand and I learned that a light rosin in a grip is better for beginners than a cake of rosin. The tuner didn’t seem to work and would require you to know how to tune a violin in the first place. There are phone apps that are super helpful for beginners.I really wish it had come with peg compound because the pegs slip so bad that I had to learn how restring it before I ever made a sound. I also learned to check the bridge while tuning because it can shift and send the bridge across the room like a projectile.I hope that I can really get into this new hobby. I might even buy another from the brand in a color I like better. I would recommend for anyone wanting to experiment with violins/fiddles. Serious musicians probably would still be better going to a physical store.

Product doesn't arrive on time or does not function
Product purchased for a gift. When received to check instrument, Noticed strings were not attached to pegs any longer. When i followed instructions on how to install the bridge the strings break and or come out of their pegs again, or pegs would fall out all together. The Bow came in a protective bag, but when i opened the bow many hairs fell out into my lap, and or were already frayed as if it had been used before. Please save your money and go to a real instrument store. Where knowledgeable staff will be able to assist you. If i had to do over again, I would not purchase this product ever again.

Nice violin!!!
I got a carbon fiber tailpiece and carbon fiber bridge and replaced the original ones and blacked out my violin made it look cooler plus carbon fiber bridge last about 50 years. Wooden ones last about 3-5 years. One the strings wasn’t attached to one the pegs but I restringed it wasn’t a big deal to me. Others that have no clue probably think it was messed up. My grandpa was from Ukraine and my grandma was Russian they taught my mom to play violin organ and piano. My mom taught me little violin when I was a kid so I know little about violins. My grandpa started a orchestra in his church when we were growing up. He was very good on violin. But I got it stringed up and still got tune it with the tuner but I got it playable pretty close by hand without the tuner. I also brought a carbon fiber bow with Mongolian black horse hair but one came with it was actually pretty decent and intact. Case was pretty nice with handle to carry or strap to carry on your shoulder. If you want a nice violin to play at home it sounds good and is playable. If you aren’t mechanically inclined take it to a music shop to get it tuned up and put bridge on so you don’t mess up nothing and sure they give you advice on how it works . YouTube got plenty helpful videos too to watch. But hope that helps you out with some ideas to get started with it.

Not worth the purchase, cheaply made.
Within minutes of receiving this item the string broke and the strings on the bow broke as well. Did not come with replacement strings so my son wasn't able to use it at all. The shipping was fast and it came well packaged but I don't recommend this product at all.

string pegs
there is a specific way to tighten your strings. highly recommend a quick google search before claiming defective. I know from experience. I received mine this morning and wanted to get it set up to make sure everything was good before handing it off as a Christmas gift to my child. when tightening the strings the pegs would just come loose, so naturally i went tighter until poof the string snapped. I immediately filed for a return. But maybe its me, i admitted to my self i had no idea on how to string an instrument so i did a quick search on google and sure enough there is a proper way to tighten your strings. Its very simple and you will probably kick yourself in the but for returning. Instead of returning ill just get a couple extra string sets and not worry about missing Christmas.

Great violine for kids!
The violin has great acustic for it's size. We had a little trouble getting it in tuned. On The first attempts it hust kept skipping. But becouse we got the black version as it is painted the keys keept on slipping. You just have to jiggle them till they loose the paint and find the wood underneath. Otherwise it looks beautiful and my 7yo loves it
