Woodpeckers hate this product.
Gila woodpeckers love hanging out and hammering wood siding on the house. Application of these spikes humanly detour these pesky creatures.

Easy to assembler bird spikes
These were quite easy to assemble within minutes. They come with tie downs, but I screwed them in, instead. Small enough to place just about anywhere. These should hold up for a good amount of time.

Will keep crows away
We needed something to definitely keep the crows away from eating our window caulkingIt's hard to believe that they like that material. But they have broken 10 screens on sliding door windows in one year

Works
Swallows nesting/perching above my boat created a terrible bad mess. Installed these in L beam trough above that support roof and birds are no problem now.

Comes unassembled
These are probably the most effective of the bird spikes I have in my garden. I use bird spikes buried in soil to keep squirrels and rats from digging in my pots and beds. However, they are the type of spikes hardest to assemble and the ones that are most easily bent and avoided if an animal learns to avoid them. These come unassembled, and assembly is a trick. If you have RA or any other type of joint or musculoskeletal affliction (I have early onset arthritis and EDS), assembling these can cause a flare in your hands and arms. It takes a certain amount of pressure and accuracy (I also have a basic tremor that can make accuracy a bit of an effort) to assemble successfully, and assembling a whole bunch of them gets painful over time. I wish they came already assembled. It wouldn't change the shipping style any.The wire part of the spikes is pretty strong, but can be bent with enough force, and the spacing of the effective ends makes it easy for any target animal to avoid these once they learn how. The metal plate they mount to has some pretty sharp edges, so use gloves to assemble them! They mount to any flat surface with screws or zip-ties, again needing some level of digital manipulation not all users have. These are, however, the easiest to bury in my beds and containers. I have plastic spikes that have a completely spiked surface that are hard to bury because there is no safe place to hold them in place while I bury, so I just use ground pins to pin them in place. Still a trick, but better than constantly Iron-Maidening my hands trying to hold them in place as I bury them. These wire ones are much easier to bury since the wires are long, and the plate has no additional spikes. They also bury deeper, fixing them deeper so an animal can't dig them up.These have plusses and minuses. If used on signs etc, I've seen most nuisance birds use them as nesting sites, since the wire forms a basket-type shape and serves as defence against predators, so these are pretty ineffective if mounted on things birds perch on.

Worked well
Only used one strip on top of a bluebird house to keep large crow off. He would lean over to snatch the babies through the front.

Really nice to have this bird deterrent in a kit like this that has everything you need.
The media could not be loaded. So, I know these are bird spikes, but I got them for a different purpose. I am attempting to create a deterrent to squirrels that are eating out of my bird feeder. I doubt my plan will work, but here is what I like about this product so far:- The alternating direction of the spikes means that there are no open areas.- The spikes are flat on the bottom and pop firmly in place on the base.- The spikes are firm enough that they are not going to bend easily. They aren't as thick or rigid as most nails, but they are a stiff wire.- The base is a thin metal, which was important for me because I wanted to modify the length and shape of the base. I was able to do this with a large pair of tin snips.- The kit comes with zip ties for mounting, if needed. For $10, this is a great deal. Can you imagine trying to make something like this? Just having it as a kit and making it easy to assemble and use is so worth the money.
