Genius! My neighbors also have a Frenchie who is so stubborn, she just eats when she wants, not when you put the food down. Mine is the same way. Ravishes his food when he finally feels like eating, but he might decide to eat his first meal at 11AM or 9PM, who knows. That makes it tough to time potty outings, etc. These are PERFECT as a topper/supplement to his main meal. I prefer to stay with hard food to keep the teeth clean, but I will take 1/4th of one of these patties and just crumble/shred it with my fingers and mix it in with his hard food, a more economical proposal than feeding him 100% patties. They are quite soft patties--they are cohesive and stay together well in the bag, but they'll break and crumble easily when you try to break them. He eats immediately, then keeps licking the empty bowl clean! Lifesaver! The price on these fluctuates quite a bit, so put them in your cart even if you don't intend to buy that day and you'll get alerts if the price has dropped.

I have previously used this item purchased from chain pet stores and thoroughly loved it as it is a great item that my dog really enjoys as a starter or occasional snack. I was curious to see if Amazon sold these bags in a larger size and fortunately, this is here.Although I have chosen the venison, I have used other flavors like Duck and beef. My dog seems to like this flavor best. The patties are loosely crumbly patties about the size of your finger to the top of your thumb size. We use these items as a starter for dry food (placing one or two patties on the dry food). The ingredients are top-notch and it is not outsourced stuff but manufactured in the USA (an important aspect for our family).Overall, this is a great item. Two paws up.

Currently use as add on to raw kibble diet for my 2 elderly dogs.Wonderful as a soft addition and for mixing in medications. They absolutely love it and I’ve seen some improvement in skin/coat although they are already eating a high end raw based food. I fed this to my babies that i has for 15 years also, both highly allergic to many ingredients over the years and they loved it and did well on it.Highly recommend Stella & Chewies.

We have fed our dog these venison patties, as well as the rabbit patties, for years, Until recently, we have been pleased and our dog has loved them. In recent months, we have received shipments from 2 online vendors containing stale patties, visibly dried out, without enough moisture to re-hydrate. Normally, we moisten them with a little water and insert a pill. That is not possible when the product is stale. I called the company and talked to their customer service rep, who denied that anything could be wrong and said that there is a huge range of "normal" for them, which they label "seasonal variability". She insisted that nothing had changed in the formula or the processing. She sounded irritated that I was calling with a negative comment. The defective product is returnable, of course, so that is not the issue. What I had hoped for was that the company would listen, acknowledge that something could have gone wrong on their end, and be interested in getting to the source of the problem, so that we could be assured of a normal level of freshness with future shipments. This company needs to change its attitude toward customer service and welcome comments that will enable them to improve their quality control and consistently produce an excellent product. Until recently, I would have given this product 5 stars.
