LOVE!!!
I read about these in the company's blurb on Amazon for a different set. The "original" of something is always good. I went to their website to hear the sound sample and I was instantly in love.I would describe their sound as haunting, soothing, blending... These chimes enhance their surroundings. Not too loud, like church bells, but not so soft I can't hear them from a few rooms away. I don't care for "chimey" wind chimes. You know, the high-pitched tinkly ones. They're ok. But THESE... Ohhhh these. These greatly enhance my love of our back deck. Birds chirping, flowers blooming and the haunting tones of the Greeks. They arrived quickly and well-packaged, with a lovely book describing their assembly and tuning.2016 UPDATE: I have now been enjoying these chimes for over 3 years. They have been hanging outside at two different addresses and they are still in perfect condition. I love these and buy them for others as housewarming gifts.

The sound of these was perfect for my soul
Lovely, haunting perpetual sound that enhances my front patio. I love wind chimes and these are right there in a tone space that I found soothing and constantly delightful. It's really a personal thing. Go to the woodstock chimes sound room http://www.chimes.com/SoundRoom.aspx and pick the sound of the chimes that you like the best. Then find your best deal--could be on Amazon. But you really need to pick the chimes by their sound. Remember, you will be hearing them all the time.

Listen to the wind chime before selecting.
During the selection process, I went on line to the manufacturers website. You can listen to the sound of each wind chime. This was extremely helpful and made the selection process easy. I have owned three Woodstock wind chimes. I would recommend each purchaser to consider adding a few extra coats of poly urethane before hanging the wind chime.

BEST CHIMES MADE
If you love the sound of windchimes, then you have to own a set of Woodstock Windchimes!! These chimes are perfectly tuned and have an incredible purity of sound. I bought this set of chimes as a Christmas gift for my sister who has delighted in their sound. I have owned the same chimes for about 16 years....I've had to restring them 2x but hey, they hang outside 12 mos. a year and restringing them is easy. I take such delight listening to them and find them to be very relaxing. I especially love the lower tonal chimes. You won't be dissapointed if you buy a set a Woodstock Windchmes.

Beautiful sound!
I purchased these chimes for our new home, which has a wrap around porch. The sound they produce is incredible. It is more of a deep, relaxing tone than the small, decorative chimes that produce a higher pitched sound. For an example google "Woodstock chime Olympos" and it should come up on youtube where you can hear the sound. They are a decent size; about three feet with a simple yet classic look to them. I have the silver, but plan on mismatching different chimes myself. Woodstock has very nice products and this is no exception. Ordering another for sure : )

Love this Windchime
Love this windchime and it is less expensive than some others I looked at. It is still pricey but much nicer than the ones you get in the home and garden stores. My son-in-law was here when we put it up and he liked it also. I did tell my neighbor to let me know if it is too noisy as houses in these new subdivisions are close together. The chime gets pretty noisy when the wind blows a lot.

Beautiful Sound!
Bought for a Greek friends mothers funeral. I displayed it at the service and received so many compliments of what a beautiful gift this was instead of the traditional floral arrangements.

Pleasing sound.
I have had this Woodstock chime in the past for years. I only bought this one again because I lost it in a move. The tone of the chimes are not harsh or bright. The wood lasts longer and looks less weather beaten with oil applied. Sometimes the chimes need to be untangled after strong winds. The stings last a lot longer than I would normally think for the years that I have had them. I don't buy any other chimes than Woodstock.

Tremendously beautiful, even though sounding very sad!
I actually bought three different sets of Woodstock Chimes, each tuned to a different scale, not for any conventional purpose but for my 'Wind Chimes in the Wild' project. For this I would take one or more sets of chimes out to a carefully chosen reasonable wild place, hang them up on trees alone or in various combinations where there was sufficient wind, and make longish recordings of the whole natural soundscape, incorporating the particular chimes sounds. These recordings have proved to be exquisitely beautiful, and my plan is presently to arrange commercial produce-on-demand CD productions of many of those recordings, which would then go up on Amazon.com. In the meantime I am putting a 5-minute excerpt of each recording up at Freesound.org (my personal website links through to all that). The full length recordings of combinations of the chimes are not soporific like the commercial recordings of wind chimes as 'relaxation' sound, but are in some cases quite as engaging as a work of symphonic music.I chose the 'silver' finish version of each set of chimes, because listening tests on other sites that gave short sound samples of the respective chimes to listen to showed that the 'silver' finish ones had an altogether brighter, 'sunnier' and more 'open' sound, I think because the various alternative finishes somewhat subdue the higher overtones. The Chimes of Olympos are tuned to what is described as an Ancient Greek scale, which appears to be the same as the very sad sounding scale of much Japanese koto music. I found that, when combined with the sound of the Gregorian Chimes, Chimes of Pluto, or indeed both of those, the Olympos chimes changed the others' emotional effect, always bringing sadness into the picture. However, the sound of any and all of them is beautiful beyond description and is far removed from the popular image of wind chimes as being just New-Agey sweet little tinklings. Okay, part of the equation here is the way that I, a composer with a highly sensitive musical ear, am using and recording them in a way that gets the best out of them, but I think few reasonably sensitive people would not be moved by the beauty of sound of any of these three sets that I bought.I cannot commend these chimes too highly. My own preference is for a well balanced timbre, with a clearly audible and reasonably even spread of overtones, right into the highest reaches of the audible frequency range, and these silver finish ones seem to fit the bill admirably.Update, 21 November 2013:I now have available a big range of my recordings of 'Wind Chimes in the Wild', which you can find if you Google "philip goddard e-store" (not in quotes), some of which include the Olympos chimes.

Chimes of Olympis
Lovely sound to these chimes which I have teamed with the Chimes of Neptune. Worth the money to make the garden sound special.

Beautiful looking and the sound is wonderful
Beautiful looking and the sound is wonderful. A little loud for a suburban garden so have hung in a sheltered position where they gently play

Clearly above average wind chime.
Good quality, nice proper tones but a tad on the loud side for me. Bought it as a gift for my wife, she loves it.

Klare Kaufempfehlung
