A compromise, but a really excellent compromise.
I got this case for a trip where I had several flights that absolutely limited me to 20 kg (44 lb), and I had a bunch of photo gear (including tripod) that made that a difficult goal. This case is 3.6 lb, which made it possible. The case is a compromise, but it's a really good compromise. True, compared to my North Face Rolling Thunder 30", it doesn't roll as nicely, it doesn't have a rigid back or a pull-up trolley handle, and it's less sturdy. But, it's just over 1/3 the weight, just over half the price, has more capacity (90 vs 80 liters) despite being just a tad smaller, and it packs into a small stuff sack if necessary. The stuff it's made of stood up surprisingly well to a lot of planes, boats, buses, and baggage handlers. It's scuffed, but intact, and I won't hesitate to take it next time. It seems water resistant enough that I wouldn't worry about it in a moderate rain. And, it holds a ton of stuff! I got the blue/gray one, which is attractive and easy to spot on a luggage carousel. It has backpack straps (removable), though I never used them. It also has a excellent handles, both on the side, and two on the top that make it easy to manage two-handed. It has a second compartment that's accessible if the large main section is locked.Because it has no rigid back - just a small rigid piece at the bottom where the wheels are mounted - it probably wouldn't roll well if you don't pack it fairly full. Basically, the contents are what makes it rigid enough to roll well.To summarize, I love my super-sturdy North Face duffel, but this allowed me to bring 20% more stuff and still make weight. I was totally willing to live with the small compromises for that benefit.

Perfect for long trips and backpacking
This baggage is durable! I've been using this bag all around Europe, trains, flights, streets and cobble stone. It holds up fine. It with stood the rain and none of my clothes got wet. The anti-theft zippers are perfect for locks. My bag was over 50lbs and had room for more. Also was a good size for European flight checked bag. The multiple handles make it easy to maneuver in tight areas. The top compartment can fit a lot of items and is perfect for storing makeup bags and belts.

Consider your height
I like this bag - it’s durable, a fun color and the backpack feature has come in handy on the few occasions we’ve had steps to manage. However, if you are going to use this as a roller bag, I would suggest that it’s not comfortable to pull for someone tall-The pull strap isn’t long enough. I’m 5’7” and it’s fine for me, but anyone taller will have issues

The Perfect Duffle
I bought an Eagle Creek day bag in 1996. I have used the heck out of that bag, using it every day to carry everything I needed as an ICU nurse. It was my portable locker!!! It still is as intact as the day I bought it.So when I searched duffle bags with wheels...and the name Eagle Creek came up...it was a no brainer. This bag is as beautiful as it is sturdy and well constructed. Good for Female or Male. Cool design is a plus.Ample space for my 12 day journey. AND it folds down into a 15x9 inch carry case for storage!! Once opened it is more than enough room. The wheels are big with treads, and super designed to fit right into the structure of the bag. I would rate this as overseas travel worthy. It comes in different sizes. The outside is wipeable, easy peasy. The color is great.I love this bag!!! And the price is right. And Eagle Creek always stands by their product, for ever...no matter what.

Avoid like the plague (caveats)
The media could not be loaded. Be Warned: This is almost certainly, hands-down, the worst purchase I’ve ever made. This bag has *literally* no ability to function for anyone who is close to my height at 6 feet. I bought this for a trip to Japan last month. I’ve been traveling abroad for 30 years. This bag made it extremely unpleasant to go anywhere, if we needed to bring this bag (which was every few days). It cannot be rolled by anyone near my height. If you try to walk upright with the bag, it will immediately sit up, stop, and if u aren’t quick, spin around completely. There’s no stopping it. And then the 15 people behind you are displeased while you attempt to kick it over to keep moving, evwry 30-60 seconds when using it. anywhere. This bag was torture during our trip. Taking it anywhere was miserable, airport- train station, streets, etc. I was able to pull it if i leaned over about 45 degrees to the side. Which worked for some minutes before I realized that is impossible to walk like that for any distance. I have traveled with all different types of bags- carry-ons, large suitcases, medium suitcases, backpacks, Camelback’s, medium size day packs, etc. Do not even consider taking this onto an airplane or through any type of public transportation. The build quality actually seems very good, so it’s disappointing. But this bag was tragically non-functional. RATING: ZERO STARS. Honestly, much less than zero stars, because it was the only thing that made it difficult to travel around Japan for three weeks.

Impressive. Most impressive.
Bought this duffel for travel to Germany for the Wacken Open Air Festival. Needed something that I could carry a full complement of camping gear and clothes in out to the middle of nowhere for a week, and that would withstand the abuse airline baggage handlers are notorious for. Stuffed this thing to the gills, sent it through 5 flights on 3 different airlines, dragged it across the German countryside for a couple of miles (on and off road), threw it in and out of cabs, hoisted it up stairs, sat on it, and just plain beat the schnitzel out of it. It came home without so much as a busted stitch. No rips, no tears, no stains, no holes, no locked up wheels. No busted zippers, straps, handles, or buckles. Emptied it out when I got home and blew the dust off with my air compressor. Good as new and ready for another beating. If you're like me and looking for old-guard quality and durability in a sea of cheap junk, you found it.

Good size, waterproof cover, but hard to pull.
Lightweight, with a lot of space. The luggage’s only real problem is that it’s difficult to pull. My previous rolling duffel had a telescoping handle. This just has short loops, and the duffel tends to flip when I’m pulling it.
