This is a very compact and easy to use rice cooker, but it could be so much better with a simple addition. An on/off mains switch is fitted, together with a separate switch to turn the unit to COOK. There are two associated indicators, one for COOK and one for the WARM function. During cooking the red COOK indicator is illuminated. When cooking is complete, the unit automatically switches to the WARM function, and the amber WARM indicator is illuminated. The WARM function keeps the rice hot until it's served. But with this automation comes a problem that could be solved so easily. There is no audible warning when the unit has completed cooking and has switched to the WARM function. The addition of a beeper or buzzer to warn that cooking is complete would be so, so helpful. Without this the user has no idea when cooking is finished unless the rice cooker is watched constantly. This is the only real downside of the VonShef cooker. Once cooked the rice is fluffy and the grains are separate, but the rice is very al dente. Leaving the cooker on WARM for a few minutes is helpful and will soften the rice further if needed, but this is a case of 'test & adjust', so a bit of experimentation is needed as you get to know your cooker. The unit has a convenient handle so it can be taken to the table and served directly. Cleaning is very easy, with just the non-stick cooking pot and the lid of the unit to be washed up after use. For the price this is a great little rice cooker and is ideal for one or two people. The maximum 1.5 cup capacity will give two people a very reasonable helping each. The only thing stopping a 5* review is the lack of warning when cooking is complete. Why?

A very handy rice cooker. Perfect for one to two people. I use jasmine rice every time, and it cooks perfectly. The only suggestion I have (as an Asian) is to keep the rice warm for an extra 15 mins so it's less soaked.

Great little machine that cooks the rice very well, it's small but can easily make 2 decent portions, I use my rice cooker in my camper van using my power station, it has a low wattage so doesn't use much power. Save the guess work and pot watching and get your rice cooked perfectly.

I love this little device! I find this rice cooker, cooks just enough for one person, if you like a decent amount of rice with your meal. Or its perfect for 2 people, to have a small portion. Unfortunately, I am looking for something similar though, thats the same, without the defects I have experienced. I am careful not to overfil the cooker, and measure the rice and water out carefully. Yet again and again, the liquid from the steeam outlet, accumalates, and drips down the side. It then seeps into the socket area. Obviously Dangerous! It cooks the rice brilliantly, and keeps it warm a while. (Sometimes creates a layer of dried out rice) So again and again this cooker has tripped off my electrics! The customer service is Very Good! I was sent a replacement rice cooker. Sadly, the same problem occured, with the dripping liquid, seeping into the electric socket area, on the product. The product also accumalates burnt bits inside, under the bowl, and is akward to clean. The inside layer, scratches off after a few weeks. (Even with gentle cleaning, I just use a damp cloth). Though this doesn't apear to interfere, with the function of the product. It apears just superficial. So while this is a brilliant idea of a product. It seems to have a design fault. I saw all the good reviews, and thought it would be perfect. As others had good experience. Therefore, after being offered a second replacement, I declined the offer. Not wanting to accumalate any more rice cookers, that would likely, have the same fault. So I decided to write this review. So others are aware, there may be problems, you experience with this device. Thankyou to the company though, for their possitive efforts.

J'écris ce commentaire longtemps après l'achat. J'aime toujours mon petit rice cooker. Très pratique quand on vit seule. Y a cependant de quoi faire 3 portions de riz je dirais ou deux grosses.

Super Produkt ! Einfach zu bedienen.

Einen Reiskocher in Österreich mit einem englischen Stecker auszuliefern ist eine unverschämte Ignoranz sondergleichen. Dafür alleine 4 Punkte Abzug. Außerdem war das gelieferte Gerät kaputt. Es konnte nur heizen, die Abschaltung auf Wärmen funktionierte nicht. Eine Stunde verschwenden fürs Zurückschicken zahlt sich bei dem Preis nicht aus. Bleibt nur der Ärger.

Les + : Petit appareil compact idéal pour 1 personne, le riz cuit rapidement et n'attache pas. Aucun bruit, un interrupteur ON/OFF par sécurité. Les - : Le système de verrouillage du couvercle pourrait poser un problème de fiabilité dans le temps. Un système de charnière aurait été mieux, surtout pour ne pas avoir à manipuler un couvercle chaud. Mais le vrai problème pour moi, c'est que l'appareil est livré avec un câble électrique avec une fiche ANGLAISE ! Donc, ça ne marche pas sur les prises françaises. Heureusement, j'avais un câble d'alim PC compatible avec l'appareil mais quand on vend un produit en FRANCE, la moindre des choses, c'est de s'assurer que les fiches soient au format FRANCAIS !
