This really is the cordless track/plunge saw I was hoping for. I’m an advanced DIYer who does renovations, rather than a tradesman, and I was willing to give up some power for the convenience of batteries, but I haven’t really felt it struggle with anything. Perhaps could get a cleaner cut with a corded Festool or Bosch when doing thick stock, like 38mm laminated counter-top, but it’s very minor. I suspect the corded two above would outperform it with thick hard woods > 25mm. I’m using the 4.0A batteries and they last longer than I expected. Plus with this you can saw down your sheet goods, accurately with a guide rail, in the Wickes car park, and fit your boards into your Ford Fiesta. It’s well made and solid. I’m really pleased with my purchase.

Great performance and being cordless its super flexible and easy to use. I allready had a few cordless Bosch professional tools having shifted from the standard green line. There is a definitive step up in performance and quality with the pro line, at a price...

I love the 'Bosch Professional' tool range and have always liked the quality. However on this occasion im disappointed. This Circular saw does everything you need it to do but accurate cuts may be hit and miss. The parallel guide rail has too much play before tightening off. I expect this movement in a cheap saw but not under the 'Bosch Professional' brand. Every other function seems as it should be and of good quality.

Had an old one of these units,so knew what I was getting.slices through timber with ease

I’ve been slowly but surely replacing all my 230v Bosch Pro tools with 18v Bosch Pro tools and this was the last one!! Aarrrh! At last! Quieter, more control and way more useful when you’ve not got a power outlet any where near you! Being battery, it doesn’t ‘run on’ when you release the trigger, the 18v has an auto stop which is safer (as you can see, I let my son use it which I’ve never allowed with the mains saw before). Great bit of kit, especially when you’ve got a load of batteries & charger already.

I've been very impressed with this saw. It works fine as a basic circular saw, but it is really two saws in one: it really excels when used with a guide rail (Festool/Makita/Bosch/Mafell all compatible) – superb accuracy and the supplied blade is very good. I would say the cut quality with a rail is comparable to a high end Festool plunge saw (TS55). I've had no problem cutting thick hardwood slabs with it either.
