I have 2 classic wireless blastir. what product should i purchase that will allow the control of 3 identical dvr boxes using the existing blasters

You should not use the Classic Wireless BlastIR to control 3 identical DVR Boxes. You will want to purchase the BlastIR Wireless Pro for that set up. With the pro version you can set each pair to a different zone to avoid cross talk and interference.

How far from the receiving device can this be placed? (IR range?)

I have the ir blaster transmitter and receiver about 24 feet apart, and the ir transmitter about 10 feet from the equipment I control, and it works well. It is more crucial for the ir transmitter be aimed properly towards the equipment that is to be controlled.

How many devices can this control? Would a quad-head emitter work?

This has a broadcast style emitter so it will usually hit multiple devices as long as they're relatively close to each other. You can add a quad emitter if you would like.

What wireless range does a transmitter/receiver pair have?
