An Ecological History of Modern China Paperback – 7 July 2023

I found this disappointing...a hatchet job on China masquerading as academic work...dismisses ecological civilisation as propaganda, minimises the advances China has made in ecological restoration. It reminds me of a recent comment by Jeffrey Sachs that US academia has recently been entirely taken over by the military industrial intelligence complex. There are many books on China from socialist perspective...a recent good one is The East is Still Red (Carlos Martinez), and a nice slim one is Barbara Finamore's Will China Save the World? She has worked with clean energy NGO in China for decades so knows what she talks about.
