Hasbro Transformers Generations Leader Class Figurine Volvo VNR 300 Optimus Prime 18 cm

Let me preface this by saying that there are almost no issues with this one. Almost. I'll start with the pros. Pros Vehicle mode is absolutely stunning, because officially licensed ones always are. every detail on the actual vehicle is there on the figure. Due to how the trailer hitch is sculpted, it can be taken off so that the trailer can fit with any other prime that can bear the trailer, and it can also holster itself on the back of the leg, using the 5 mm hexagonal peg there, leading me to believe that it is intended to be a sidearm in robot mode. It can also fit in the hands. Massive amounts of articulation(I'll get into that later) A matrix in the chest, and it's finally a different mold, it being thinner and made of clear plastic. No kibble from the knees up(getting into that later) Cons Cab fails to fold in at all as the legs Hands cannot open to hold the matrix Time to discuss the articulation. Double jointed knees that are both hinges 90 degree ankle tilt Ball jointed head that can do a full 360 Ball jointed hands that can do a full 360 Elbow hinge at a 90 degree angle Just above the elbow is another hinge that can do a full 360. Shoulders can do a full 360 Waist can do a full 360 At the waist, the legs can do a 180 degree kick at the front, back, and to the side. Toes point down for transformation, you can't really use this for articulation but I felt I had to mention it. In short, this was worth the $60 price point or however much it was I can't remember. If you need a less expensive Optimus, siege is acceptable.

I previously purchased the Holiday Optimus Prime directly from Hasbro which is the same mold, but I had to have this one because I liked the figure and it looked good in the classic colors. I really wish they had followed through with the planned Amazon Prime-branded version of this figure, but oh well. I really like the engineering of this figure. It's a unique transformation scheme for an Optimus Prime figure and is fun and rewarding to play around with. The Volvo VNR vehicle mode is also very accurate and detailed. The only drawbacks to this figure are the trailer piece that has been reused many times at this point, and the fact that the pieces that make up the figure's chest area are made of fragile transparent plastic. Both versions of this mold are known to have stress and breakage issues with these parts if great care is not taken when transforming the figure. For that reason, I would recommend this figure only for older children and adults.

Very fun to mess around with. The truck looks good with no obvious robot parts showing except for underneath.

This was a replacement copy of the figure I initially ordered, because there was a factory defect with the head sculpt (the mouthpiece was malformed). Quality control Hasbro/Takara… Overall, I think it is one of the best Optimus Prime figures. Yes the legs are a bit bulky and the trailer is cheaply made (which is why I deducted a star), but the head sculpt is 100 times better than the Studio Series 86. The paintwork and overall sculpt are also excellent. The trailer is just like the Earthrise, but with better paint and more black plastic. Highly recommended.

Great Prime !!

Absolute must have for any "adult" collector of Optimus Prime. I specify both, as if you buy this figure for a child, know that the transformation (it comes in the package in alt mode) is not for the faint of heart. Lot of little bits, complex fold-this-into-that steps that aren't the best pictured, and the plastic seems a little more on par with some of KO figures I own, rather than hasbro's norm and is a little brittle and creaky as you move the parts. Joints are solid though. Poses well. I think my only real disappointment was the scale of the alt mode with the trailer attached. Bot mode puts him about the same height as the recently released WFC Voyager Prime, but his alt mode scales better to a vintage deluxe class Optimus. Think if they had RND'd a slightly larger alt mode they could have got the clunky feet transforming better. Either way still a 5 star figure for me. Especially with these amazon prices lately and free shipping. Nothing to complain about!

Right off the bat I need to emphasize how great this figure is with a single sentence; I've never displayed a Transformer in vehicle mode until I bought this figure. VNR Optimus Prime is a fantastic figure from Hasbro, it's a unique transformation from the standard approach, instead of the truck bed being the legs while the front becomes the chest, the front becomes the legs while the bed becomes the backpack and arms This figure is impressively-engineered, and if the rumors of this originally being an Amazon crossover were true then I'm genuinely upset that wasn't the case, because I love this figure enough that I wish we got repaints of it for me to buy again. I can't recommend this figure enough, if it weren't for the trailer bumping it's price from a Voyager to a leader I'd say it's flawless, but the trailer is really the only thing holding it back. Still, it's worth having in your collection if you get the chance to grab one, especially at a discount.

I paid 239 UAE dirhams for this product and when I received it, I was shocked to see how bad the quality of the product was. It shouldn’t cost more than 30 dirhams looking at the quality of the product. I have initiated a refund but seriously shocked how people can rip customers selling such bad stuff. Shame.

I can't speak directly but my boyfriend (28) is thrilled with this model and it makes his nerd heart so happy.

There is good detail in the transformer, my son is happy with it. The transformation process is complex and took him a letting time to get the hang of, but that's part of the appeal. However, this transformer is delicate, parts detach very easily if your not very careful when transforming. So far they have clipped back into place, hopefully that remains to be the case. This transformer is not as robust as my son's other studio series transformers.

I had purchased this for my child who's a big transformers fan, but it's far more complex and fragile compared to the original toys. Had to return it as a piece snapped off in my first attempt at transforming it for him.
