I gave this book to my Grandson on his birthday, along with the catcher's mitt he wanted so badly. I had seen Cal Ripkin, Jr. talking about the series on TV. Since my Grandson plays on a local team, I thought it would be the perfect gift. I'm glad to report that he read the entire book in two days and said he loved it. I just gave him another one of the series and am looking for the next one. I highly recommend this book!

Got this for my 9 year old, 4th grade grandson for Easter. Saw Mr. Ripken on TV last week and decided to get the book. My grandson plays catcher/first base/pitcher in our local Cal Ripken League. He read the book in one day! He absolutely loved it. I've just ordered the other two books for him. Thanks for a great read for an impressionable young ball player.

Good for upper elementary or junior high school kids. If your son or daughter plays ball then they will enjoy this books. As a parent of a baseball player, who doesn't love Cal Ripken, Jr. with all his training tools? His name drew us to the series (there are two books before this one) but the story kept my son reading!

My son loves these books. He's in 4th grade and loves sports, particularly baseball. It's hard to get him to sit down and read, but these books have him hooked.

I purchased this for my 10yo son who is a good...but reluctant reader. He's a baseball player so I took a chance that he would enjoy this book and it paid off! I will be purchasing the other Cal Ripken, Jr. books for him.

I purchased this for my 12 year old niece. She is the pitcher for her softball team. These books have a moral to them which is good for children this age. She really enjoys this series.
