This isn't genuine real leather, but nevertheless, It's still a very nice "leather" journal. Like how buttery smooth the outside is. The paper is paper, with that yellowish hue to it which gives it more of an older look. For the price, it's a fantastic journal. Definitely would recommend if you are into older, more esthetic looks and feel.
