Easy Economical Heater Solution for My Sink
My kitchen faucet is at the opposite end of the house from my gas water heater. If I ran the hot water wide open in the sink, it would take about 30 seconds for the water to start warming up, and about 45 seconds before it really started getting hot. I finally decided to get an on-demand water heater for the sink. After lots of looking at the myriad of options out there, I decided on the ECOTOUCH 065. I didn't want to go more than 30 amps, and since I'll only be heating the water between my main water heater and the sink, and only until the normal hot water reaches the sink, the ECOTOUCH seemed like a good solution.Installation was simple under the sink with the 2 provided clips. I now have the hot water line from the gas water heater connected to the cold water input to the ECOTOUCH, and the hot water output connected to the faucet. Now I get hot water within a couple of seconds at the faucet, and it's quite sufficient until the REALLY hot water arrives from the other end of the house. Once the hot water starts arriving at the ECOTOUCH, it shuts off since the water coming in exceeds the temperature setting I set on the ECOTOUCH. It's quite an efficient setup in my opinion.Supplying 30 amp service to the unit really wasn't much of an issue for me; my basement has a drop ceiling, and running the wiring through the ceiling there and up under the kitchen sink was fairly straightforward. I had initially bought a 30 amp double-pole breaker for the service panel, but then a note in the manual which I finally noticed cautioned that only a GFCI breaker should be used to prevent electric shock. I should have known this anyway, but it's not stated in the specification table they provided; it only said to use a 30 amp breaker. So I installed a double-pole 30 amp GFCI breaker, and I'm comfortable in the knowledge that it's a safe installation.I do have to comment on customer service. While I was hashing out the GFCI issue, I emailed tech support to clear up a question, and within 1 day, I got a response. I was quite pleased with their responsiveness! The photo shows my installation under the double sink in my kitchen. There wasn't any room to spare, but it fit fine. I'm happy with the way the ECOTOUCH works so far, although it's only been a few days. Hopefully this is a one and done project, and I'll never have to think about it again for a long time!

Works adequately but not as advertised!
I bought this ECO65 water heater when my 80 gal. water heater started leaking, because it was the highest wattage unit at the best price point (about $100) I found that didn't require upgrading the existing wiring to handle the increased current. My incoming water temp currently (mid-September in CT) is 68℉ and if it doesn't drop much lower this will be adequate for my needs, but if it drops significantly as winter sets in, I will need to upgrade to a more powerful unit. As for this unit it has a few deficiencies. For one, the 1/2" NPT connections don't have any place to use a wrench making tightening these connections a risky proposition (which may be the cause of the reviews claiming it leaked right after installing). Also, their quality is suspect, as it took multiple attempts using BOTH Teflon tape and pipe dope to get the 3/4" to 1/2" reducing bushing to stop leaking, but this may also be due to the fact that I didn't dare tighten them anymore without the use of a wrench to hold the water heater fitting while tightening the reducing bushing. Now about the "Works adequately but not as advertised!" headline. It is not possible to achieve the temp. rise at the flow rates advertised. I found this formula online: 2.47 x 1gal x 1℉ x 1 hr = Watts. Using it, the most you could hope for at a 1.5gpm flow rate is: 6500/(2.47x90gph)=29.2℉, where 6500 is the total power available and 90gph = 1.5gpmx60min(1hr). As you can see in the attached copy of their flow rates at various inlet temperatures, they claim a 35℉ temp rise which is more than 5℉ higher than what is mathematically achievable with only 6500 watts of input power. The accompanying instruction manual is even worse claiming a 38℉ temp rise at 1.5gpm. To achieve that would require over 8400 watts. Overall an adequate unit but some deceptive advertising. Know what you need and what is possible before you purchase one and expect it to meet the advertised specifications.

Economical replacement
This unit was purchased to replace a faulty 40g electric heater. I was aware of the capabilities and limitations of it and it does exactly what it says it does. Make sure your electrical system is compatible before purchasing any water heater. This was the same as my previous tank heater so no wiring improvements were needed. Installation was very simple and straightforward. First operation and temp setting was clearly outlined in the installation instructions. Water reaches 131° in about 10 seconds at the proper valve setting which is plenty warm for our application. Pressure and volume is much less than it was with our traditional heater but enough for a single shower head. I would absolutely recommend this heater if the capacity is high enough for your needs. The size and value over direct replacement is what sold and it didn’t disappoint.I plan on adding smaller 110v tankless heaters in the future for my sinks and another one of these for my washer. Five stars

Leaked immediately
Was very careful to tighten it slowly to make sure that there wasn't going to be any leaks in accordance with the sticker that is stuck on this unit it didn't matter it leaked anyway it leaked all over the place and I actually only got a water temp up to 80 degrees I was as high as I could get it I even slowed the water volume down and I couldn't get it at any higher

Pretty rad
We are a family of 6 and have this connected to our Skoolie. It takes some getting used to because you have to find the perfect flow rate to keep hot water. We can’t use the sink water at the same time either but for the price it’s pretty sweet.
