Alchemy GoodsHaversack Messenger Bag, Made from Recycled Bike Tubes

This bag is incredible. I had purchased a smaller version of this brand and fell in love. I wanted something a little larger. I live in Seattle and am normally a pretty heavy cyclist, but a few months ago, some hammerhead parallel parked next to a bike lane was too busy trying to catch a Pokemon and made an illegal U turn into my leg while I was happily cycling with my bike helmet, lights and ringing bell in the bike line, changing my life forever. Currently, I crutch around on a peg-leg style, hands free crutch and getting around is, needless to say, precarious. I love that this is waterproof/resistant. The size is manageable and really comfortable. The straps are easily adjustable, the compartments are well placed, the zipper pull is super clever and unlike the other bag, this one has no stinky, rubber odor. This cost the same as a smaller bag and I daresay, I wished I had found this one first, however, I love Alchemy Goods immensely, so, I would happily throw money their way!

I bought this bag to use on a vacation where I would be on foot for a few days in downtown Vancouver BC. The materials make it lightweight, basically waterproof - and very well made. I could see this bag lasting a very long time.The bag is compact enough to easily set next to you when eating lunch and since it is essentially made of rubber it is very easy to clean.I was able to comfortably store a camera, my Nexus 7 tablet, cell phone, a bottle of water - and still had space for small purchases made throughout the day. It has a large front flap on the front - and I've had bags where that annoyed me in the past - but it didn't bother me here. I barely noticed it - it was very easy to get in the bag, grab my camera, snap a few photos, and toss it back in.The strap is very comfortable on your shoulder as well - that fact that is was made from a recycled seat belt strap probably has something to do with that!I liked the bag so much that I now use it everyday at work and would gladly purchase other products from Alchemy Goods again.

...the strong odor of rubber from the materials can get on hands and clothes. I loved the bag and it was the perfect size for traveling and carrying my Nikon camera as well as all the other stuff I must have when I walk out the door. Unfortunately, I didn't tolerate the smell of the rubber tubes that make up the bag. I tried washing it off several times but the odor still prevailed so with a heavy heart, I returned the bag for a refund. If the odor hadn't been a problem, I would have given 4.5 stars for a rating.

It's rare to open a box and exclaim (out loud) "I love this." Well, that was the reaction. This is so cool. I needed a break from my stuffy "professor" briefcase. Yes, as others have said, it's much roomier than the 11" height. I can put my 13" Macbook in the bag along with a few other items; it doesn't leave much room but there's certainly enough space. If I were using it daily as a bag for a 13" computer I'd probably get the larger size, but it's fine for occasional use. It's more appropriate for an 11" computer or iPads of various sizes. Well-made, rugged and fun. I'll be back to buy more Alchemy products, for sure!

I've been slinging this bag for a decade now. I am a traveling hospice nurse. This just barely fits all of my assessment gear plus my laptop. I can wipe it down easily between visits. I use this thing HARD 5 days a week. It's been 10 years! It feels like an old friend. It seems to get better with age. Love this bag. You will too.

It’s well made just I wish there was a much larger size!!

Large side bag, soft and supple exterior with heavy lining.I really like that it is recycled. The strap is wide and has a length adjusters.
